Midtown Vinyl Coming Soon

Hot Topic will be exclusively releasing Midtown's Living Well Is The Best Revenge and Save The World, Lose The Girl on vinyl this November. Man, it's been a while since we've used that news icon.

bradsonemanband 10/02/12 03:46 PM

Neato!

kidinthebushes 10/02/12 03:48 PM

Not to take anything away from Underoath's breakup but this is the news of the day.

kidinthebushes 10/02/12 03:49 PM

Honest question, who/what determines if an album is a 2x LP? Is it strictly to make more money?

ekarddivad 10/02/12 03:49 PM

Man I wish Forget What You Know was coming out as well.

Holly HoX! 10/02/12 03:51 PM

The length (typically) determines if an LP is 2x.

Pretty sure neither of these albums need to be....

not sure, but i doubt they make much more profit if at all. they have to press twice as many vinyl and produce more elaborate packaging (if it's a gatefold). personally, i don't care for 2xLPs unless it's practical... like 16 songs full-length songs or more. then again i don't really know jack shit about how this stuff works. just speculating.

Holly HoX! 10/02/12 03:59 PM

Yeah....no....there's no reason that these should be 2xLPs.

They'll make some nice change pressing 1500 of each at $22 a pop.

Zack Zarrillo 10/02/12 04:08 PM

Stoked! WIll buy both

a defunct pop-punk band releasing vinyl is bigger news than a bigger more popular band calling it quits? okay?

I didn't think War All The Time needed to be either. There are 3 songs on a side.

MikeYabs 10/02/12 04:14 PM

Excited to get both of these on vinyl.

Jason Tate 10/02/12 04:14 PM

Will buy.

No. Length and fidelity.

Fidelity is very loose term when talking about pop punk on vinyl imo

Anton Djamoos 10/02/12 04:19 PM

Well that's cool.

Pretty much. They've been doing really well for at least the last year. At least they were able to put out TOYPAJ without screwing over everyone who ordered it.

HTtravis 10/02/12 04:49 PM

HT has done tons of awesome exclusive vinyl over the past 3 years or so, this isnt anything new.

Thanks for posting this here Drew

The TSL Early Times vinyl is being released on DTR/ShopRadioCast and I'm assuming this is too?

whitelightning7 10/02/12 07:47 PM

I will definitely be picking up Save The World.

jrtbighurt 10/02/12 07:59 PM

Will have to get these, but FWYK would be nice. One of my favorite records.

I'm assuming track 12 was "Ny batteri"? In that case, it's barely acceptable, as that would make the record about 48:30 in total length, and I believe that for ideal fidelity they try to cap side length at around 22-23 minutes.

avarice14 10/02/12 11:48 PM

Really you aim for 20 a side but you can get away with 22-23. They probably could get this on 1 lp but it will sound better on 2.

Yeah I know, but I also know that--"back in the day" at least"--it wasn't/isn't uncommon to cram 23 minutes onto a side. Springsteen's The Wild, The Innocent & the E-Street Shuffle for example was 46 minutes and change but wasn't released as a double album still.

Searos 10/03/12 07:07 AM

I heard that they could not get the rights to do Forget What You Know but SRC has a better chance of it based on some of their releases being from same label that Forget What You Know was on.

Concur.

fsmith84 10/03/12 10:18 AM

I don't care if it's 3 chord punk and won't sound any different on vinyl - it is 3 chord punk that defined my early life. I'll be buying Living Well for sure.
