jimmyeatsboys 10/03/12 05:36 AM

beepoo beep beepoo... the time machine is working! this is pretty much exactly what i thought the next FSF record would sound like back in the day after Hide Nothing

Zack Zarrillo 10/03/12 05:45 AM

This record is so good. May be my AOTY

vinnie_9 10/03/12 05:45 AM

sounds really good!!!

june182 10/03/12 05:45 AM

3 weeks needs to hurry up!

lew_1987 10/03/12 05:49 AM

Is it just me, or is this song horribly Auto-Tuned?

HogarthHughes 10/03/12 05:50 AM

Sounds fantastic. Really looking forward to this album.

Fame<Infamy 10/03/12 05:51 AM

Love it.

astaticskyline 10/03/12 05:51 AM

Holy shit. This album is going to be amazing.

and Yes, his vocals are pretty poorly auto-tuned. Sounds like Cher in the verse.

bradsonemanband 10/03/12 05:52 AM

Chris' voice is so fucking massive these days. it's awesome. can't wait for the album.

definitely a good song. I enjoy both songs I have heard. It doesn't grip me the same way TMID and HTSAF did initially but that was a long time ago and I'm a different person. I am still really looking forward to the album though!

Totally agree about the production though. I actually think the songs would sound a little better if they were just a tad less polished. That being said, I still like the old-school strain in Chris' voice on this song; really brings me back. The bridge through the end on Rescue Trained is very reminiscent of what I originally loved about them.

Drew Beringer 10/03/12 05:59 AM

his voice sounds awesome on this record, I don't think anything is awfully autotuned at all

Haven't heard this song yet but I definitley hear this in the chorus of So Cold. The way the vocals on that song are produced make it borderline unlistenable.

Paris1nFlames 10/03/12 06:11 AM

This is exactly how I hoped it would sound. Ugh, so happy i can listen to this on repeat until my pre order arrives!

steve-0 10/03/12 06:19 AM

I dont love the production of this album so far (he sounds like hes singing in a closet or something).....

that said, this song is awesome. the only problem is its too short! i love the chorus and the guitars in the verses are really classic FSF sounding. there are 3 awesome albums coming out in the next 3 weeks (coheed, anberlin, FSF). ridiculous. cant wait

SuNDaYSTaR 10/03/12 06:19 AM

Love the song, but it is just me or the quality was better on the album teaser?

InfiniteArms 10/03/12 06:20 AM

Is Autotune really necessary, if that's what I'm hearing?

loveisdead 10/03/12 06:22 AM

This is really, really good. I'm so excited for the whole album.

oshyjay 10/03/12 06:29 AM

I'm pretty sure the autotune is intentional; it's just the sound they were going for on the song.

coreysetfail 10/03/12 06:32 AM

Song sounds great, but that auto-tune is absolutely terrible. Why is it even necessary. Chris can sing. Fuck that.

mattplayscheap 10/03/12 06:48 AM

Its sad, these days people hear a good singer and automatically say 'auto tuned'

Zack Zarrillo 10/03/12 06:48 AM

Vocally, I think there are a lot of effects on this record that are all done for a very specific purpose. Everything, production wise, sounds very on-purpose in context of the whole record. Truly great

zachff 10/03/12 07:47 AM

Liked it but didn't love it. Going to have to wait to hear everything in the full album context I think.

It's sad that you can't identify the heavy use of autotune on his voice in this song.

Drew Beringer 10/03/12 07:50 AM

I guess I just don't hear the auto-tune. oh well

xapplexpiex 10/03/12 07:50 AM

now i'm excited

deezee 10/03/12 07:55 AM

Good song, terrible sound quality.

davefalcone777 10/03/12 08:04 AM

Chris' voice is too good to have to be overproduced. I'm still excited for the album though.

I didn't hear it so much on that one, but this... the verses are so cringeworthy.

TJ Wells 10/03/12 08:24 AM

I like it. But if you don't hear the autotune in that last bit of the song you're crazy.

drewinseries 10/03/12 08:33 AM

I think it sounds really cool. It feels like the autotune was intentional and I think it fits the song quiet well.

Jaytothesyg 10/03/12 08:37 AM

This is great. Like both songs alot so far

I should probably check out this bands old stuff

Ryan Gardner 10/03/12 09:02 AM

The last minute or so of this may be my favorite moment on the record

jrtbighurt 10/03/12 09:03 AM

Love it, is it November 3rd yet?

EDIT: to see them live, not for the album.

guitarguy211 10/03/12 09:11 AM

Awesome song. Can't wait for this to come out.

ilovesofie 10/03/12 09:12 AM

I'm gonna wait, I want the full record at once.

acityofrefuge 10/03/12 09:16 AM

it's hard to tell since the stream is pretty poor quality, but this song rules from what i can hear.

I don't get it. Didn't you just say you don't hear auto-tune on the record?

I forgot the word "don't" in that post lol (should have read "I guess I just don't hear the auto-tune")

it was early in the morning when I posted that (LA time is screwing me up haha)

It's purposely auto tuned for a specific sound, not because he needs auto tune. Why can't people understand that. They obviously had a certain vision for it on the verses.

teebs41 10/03/12 09:43 AM

I don't think it is "auto-tune".. do you idiots even know what auto tune means, yes the notes are probably Manually tuned but to suggest he sang and then let the computer match the pitches perfectly is insane, no self respecting band would ever do that. There is a distinct vocal effect used throughout the record to create the sound they wanted for this band. you can strongly hear this effect at the end of the song when Chris' voice is by itself. Sorry friends but if you think a band like this is using auto tune then you do not know what auto tune means.

Kevin_MI 10/03/12 09:43 AM

Great song, but I'm not diggin the production/quality. Oh well, still picking the album up.

Rysker6 10/03/12 09:49 AM

I loved this, I really can't express how excited I am to hear this thing. It sounds like FSF and the vocals were executed so well it seems, not overdone, keeping with what people would expect from Further. Really good song.

haha ok all is forgiven. I haven't been able to listen to the song full blast because I'm at work, but I haven't really been able to hear it, either. I definitely heard it (whether it was autotune or whatever effect used) in the chorus of So Cold and in other stuff Chris has done, but it doesn't bother me at all.

The only Chris Carrabba autotune that I've ever really noticed that has always bugged the shit out of me is in Ghost of a Good Thing. About 3:08 in.

beauvais910 10/03/12 10:33 AM

Maybe my headphones suck but I can't hear the auto tune. Digging the track though.

No borderline about it. I would rather him be a few cents off than have to listen to that crap. It's really sad too because I was really looking forward to this album and I think the songs sound good otherwise.

njdevils327 10/03/12 11:00 AM

lol at everyone saying they aren't digging the production/quality of a stream that is streaming at 128 kbps. Of course its going to sound like shit

It sounds horrendous.

Call it 'Auto-Tune', or whatever you want, but pitch correction is rife within the industry.

They definitely used antares auto-tune or some other tuning software in the song but yes they probably used it in manual mode if you want to get specific. Whether they did it for effect or not, either way it's a horrible fit for a band with a singer like chris. Why would any self respecting rock band want to go with that sound unless they were strapped for cash and didn't have the money to keep singing the parts until they got what they wanted. I would expect it from ke$ha but not FSF

PetitnaindesĪles 10/03/12 11:18 AM

wanted to hear it but the quality is so bad, i can wait until the release date.
