Please don't associate American Football with such a stupid expression.

reasons like this thread are why i say you can only critique music on a serious level if you actually play it yourself

They're are the biggest influence for the twinkle movement. I don't like the term as much as anyone and I love the music.

Good thing you're absolutely wrong.

Brian vs Shark 10/11/12 09:33 PM

Is this really happening?

codeseven 10/11/12 10:30 PM

I don't know or care what this talk about twinkle things is, or why American Football should / shouldn't be associated with it - but this is great news. They play great music. And as much as "new" songs would be awesome, it's also great to find unreleased songs that were recorded during that era. This is me hoping for a vinyl.

frenchatticus 10/11/12 10:58 PM

twinkly shit is sweet

O BOY WATCH OUT BOYZ, HIS FRIEND R IN BAND = AUTOMATIC AUTHORITY ON SUB GENRE. BOW DOWN 2 KING

radio_tower 10/12/12 01:08 AM

nice to see revisionists out in force. bands like christie front drive had their music described as 'twinkly' in the 90s, so what's wrong with referring to american football as such, so long as it's accurate? just because it's now been co-opted as a "genre" (wtf?) does't mean that it's not a legitimate description of a certain type of guitar sound.

however, i would suggest that bands such as mineral / cfd had a twinkly guitar sound, and bands like american football do not.

thus, we are back where we started. what exactly is twinkly about playing noodly, slightly jazz influenced emo? not a lot.

Stephin_DC 10/12/12 07:22 AM

Its weird .. their Lp is my favourite record of all time,, but I don't really like the EP that much. Hopefully these songs lean more towards the LP songs
