Woe Is Me Has A Story To Tell

Hear a new Woe, Is Me song titled "A Story To Tell" in the replies.

Still not as good as anything on Number[s].
Still not anywhere close to enough Hance - he should be the star.
Still not really enjoying Doriano - should have let Hance cover all screams.
Still not finding hearing anything close to Oh, Manhattan.

The pre-chorus and chorus are decent, though. I like the synth parts and the way the music drops in the second chorus as well. Fairly overproduced though; wonder why they didn't give this project to Crummett when he nailed the Issues EP.

davidwalbrun 10/22/12 10:57 PM

Yea W,IM sucks now

sordanj 10/22/12 10:59 PM

I actually liked the orchestral stuff in the beginning. Musically its the same old shit. It's just like a less catchy/more heavy A Day To Remember. Hance is underutilized once again and he is really the only redeeming thing of this band. Except once again, the lyrics are atrocious and juvenile, but I'm sure the target demographic won't care either way.

TyBreaker 10/22/12 11:05 PM

Oh FUCK yeah man. These chugga-chuggas breakdowns are just too life changing. Especially the ones with cuss word intros.

Jake Denning 10/22/12 11:05 PM

Another wack ass set of lyrics. Music was alright though. Hance is under utilized, I agree with Appleby.

defmytones 10/22/12 11:17 PM

I feel like the lyrics are from a nerdy kid in high school thats writing in his journal about a bully he hates. Absolutely cringe inducing.

Beej 347 10/22/12 11:27 PM

Rise is probably just putting out the "shit talk" singles to create buzz for this "feud" between woe and issues and their releases to follow. I'm sure both woe's album and issues EP will be solid as a whole

Still seriously doubt W,IM's record is going to be good, its a completely new band now and the old W,IM style is gone and the new is just awful so far

Freshman15Davey 10/22/12 11:36 PM

Is this really another Tyler hate track?

UnderclasHero 10/22/12 11:45 PM

kinda good, but still, fuck Doriano.

What do you expect. Austin wrote most if not all the songs for this album so of course he is going to talk shit about a dude who told him to go fuck himself.

Coverbydesign 10/22/12 11:48 PM

Well that was horrid. I liked the first album very much and even went on a mad goose hunt to find it. But everything I am hearing from this album just sounds like Austin pitching shit at Tyler and the rest of the dudes who quit Woe..but mainly Tyler.

PermanentTourists 10/22/12 11:54 PM

Terrible band.

These guys are game changers. So much creativity. So much bounce factor.

Not sure if serious and it's making me sad.

whenwefirstmet 10/23/12 12:03 AM

Wow. This shit is terrible. I absolutely love Number[s] and Issues seems promising but HOLY FUCK this is terrible. There is NOTHING this band does to stand out. Not one little thing. And they can't even mix around the clean and heavy parts. Straight chugging into a shitty pop punk chorus. It's unreal bad.

Also, this is the THIRD tween lyric shit-talking song about Tyler and the guys that left the band. Fucking grow up. So fucking bad.

I'm kidding haha :-d

Jack Appleby 10/23/12 12:12 AM

As always, hearing a new Woe song made me re-listen to Oh, Manhattan. Seriously, one of my favorite post-hardcore records - Hance's screams are Keith Buckley-esque, and I love the way his cleans sound on that album.

In case you haven't, go listen: http://open.spotify.com/album/4FrgxRBUOOOiri3ziKS3YT
Whole album is great. Lyrics are fantastic, though note that they were written by the former singer.

Symphonicaxiom 10/23/12 12:58 AM

Really sick of these retarded lyrics.

FallOutWeeze 10/23/12 01:13 AM

Doriano is a good screamer but he should really be taking a backseat for Hance. Song is average.

GetUpAndrew 10/23/12 01:44 AM

Hance should be the only singer of this band.

luqmanhakim 10/23/12 02:12 AM

"We all have #AStoryToTell"
"We all have #Issues"

Urgh fuck Rise with this fandom nonsense. Lol at people who are actually feeling better about themselves after listening to Woe. What a weak generation we are.

Journey408 10/23/12 02:19 AM

fuck issues

lovin' the new Woe, Is Me
those programmed drums are still annoying though. do some new shit austin

Jack Appleby 10/23/12 02:19 AM

I'd be really curious to see Woe and Issues sales numbers compared to other Rise acts. I wonder how much the shenanigans increase sales.

Born_For_This 10/23/12 02:47 AM

Awful lyrics. Clean vocalist is pretty good.

I mean, wasn't that song they released awhile ago about him as well? It just seems a little redundant.

JamesMichael 10/23/12 05:18 AM

The cleans are really good but as stated above the rest is pretty standard. Its funny how Woe, is me has become a crappy rip off of themselves.

Rise is really trying to put them up against each other to see who has a faster growing fan base, and the competition is boosting both of their sales probably. Issues is winning tho.

Yea and the way the album is sounding the whole album is going to be him pitching shit at Tyler.

t00latef0rr0ses 10/23/12 06:57 AM

Hance's voice is killer. Should be used way more. Other than that, it's mehhh.

fna4 10/23/12 07:02 AM

Rise metal has lasted way longer than it should have.

MrDelux 10/23/12 07:20 AM

Call me a looser but.....

I dont enjoy all of the cussing they have added to their songs...

circletheworld 10/23/12 07:25 AM

this sounds exactly like the last song

Is this Hance's old band? If so then wow. This song and band in general need all Hance and none of that other screamer but I guess having only five members in their band is too little of a number for them. Hehe

WeltallAY 10/23/12 07:53 AM

This album went from being highly anticipated to not at all for me. I don't get why it was such a huge deal that members left W,IM that it caused the new members to latch on and talk all this shit. I mean, if Tyler and Michael never left then Hance and Doriano technically wouldn't have a job in such a well-known job so shouldn't they be happy?...This is all likely Austin's mastermind, who's pinning himself to be be quite the douche after all this. All these lyrics are doing is building up hate amoung very impressionable teens against a SPECIFIC person rather than the general ambiguity usually used within this scene. Finally, why do they keep on singing about [ex W,IM members] talking shit? Besides on King Of Armadillo it seems like they don't really give a shit.

johnnyferris 10/23/12 08:15 AM

Stop being bitter and write better lyrics jeezzz. So overproduced.

ChristianLFTW 10/23/12 08:25 AM

What's Hance gonna do during shows? He'll need a chair or something with how little singing time he gets.

TyBreaker 10/23/12 08:29 AM

Hmmmm lets see....what line should i put before the breakdown...i already hit him with a line about a dick in his mouth.....better tell him to "fucking die" again.

wtfjaked 10/23/12 08:53 AM

This band should seriously invest in adding a songwriter to the band. He can have a tambourine or something.

Capulet 10/23/12 09:30 AM

hey its heavy, is catchy, its bouncy, i like it

Meeze 10/23/12 09:41 AM

It is just so generic. The lyrics must stop. Why do they insist on beating a dead horse?

Run in place and sync head banging with the rest of the band.

my thoughts

guitarguy211 10/23/12 09:54 AM

Hance's cleans are fantastic....but that's the only thing I really find appealing about this.

That being said can't really stand Issues either.

So you're implying these songs could use an enHancement, eh?

HeyItsAllyssa 10/23/12 10:30 AM

I want to hear more of Hance's vocals
