Taylor Swift To Sell Over One Million
Taylor Swift is projected to sell over a million copies of her new album, Red, and will possibly surpass Lady Gaga's mark of 1.1 million from May 2011.
|
And the world turns....
|
Good for her.
|
All in thanks to Papa John's
|
It allegedly shipped quadruple-platinum already: http://www.spin.com/articles/taylor-...=spintwitte r
EDIT: Spin was wrong. 4 million singles sold already. Still impressive. |
Umm... I heard 4 million

It's basically her selling her 'name' because album is no good.
|
Crazy well deserved. Album is so good. Look for my review tomorrow
|
Regardless if you love or hate her, you have to respect that she can consistently put up these numbers when 90% of records can touch a gold certification in their entire run.
|
Speak Now went platinum its first week, and as much of a step backward this album it is, I wouldn't expect it to sell any less.
|
these numbers have been inflated by pizza
|
And the trend of really crappy music selling REALLY well ... continues! Water, also is still wet.

The extent of Taylor coverage on this site is really, really weird.
|
this is easily bigger than N'Sync's 2 million back in '00. two platinum first weeks in a row is just unbelievable.
makes me think about how big will Adele's 23 or 24 debut. 21 may be the last diamond album ever. |

its really only me posting stuff about her. plus her album is my AOTY. |

Considering this, do you think Jason will be inviting you to the AP.net Christmas party? |

Just goes to show that with enough marketing and people behind the scenes, any talentless hack can succeed.

So it's the only album you've listened to this year, or...? |
That's impressive, and I feel like I haven't really heard anyone talking about it outside of this site. Maybe I'll check it out...
|
lol @ people saying this album isn't good.

Yes, but she will never reach 2 million. Like, ever.

Fearless - 6x platinum Speak Now - 4x platinum Great prediction. |

Well, that one went over your head. |

And I'm like, "I'm just, I mean this is exhausting, you know? We are never getting back together, like ever." That's what you were referencing, right? Because I got that. |
album is fantastic.
|
Disappointed in the album, there's a few good tunes on there, though. Not surprised at sales.
|
Actually less than I thought. I guess a lot of her fans that are buying her album probably bought digital.

This pleases me. |

good for taylor
even though the album is no where near as good as speak now might be a grower though |
wow, in this age that's insane.
|
Awesome for her. Well deserved. Album is excellent.
Willing to bet if people put aside preconceived notions of her and gave it a listen, they'd at least see growth. Not guaranteeing you will love it, but at the least you should respect what she's done with this album rather than blindly pass judgment. |

nah |
good for her, make all that money while you're young & you still can
she can probably retire when she's 25 |
Good for her. I don't really care for her, but it's pretty funny how people are getting upset about this in here
![]() Also, someone in the Papa John's post mentioned that they saw that RITE AID was selling the album. I can now confirm this, as I saw their digital sign advertising it this morning... |

Ha you say the same thing in every thread. You know, some people just don't like it because. |
I may not have liked a single song I've heard from it but good for her.
|
didn't lady gaga buy a fuckton of her albums off amazon to boost sales??
anybody else remember hearing about that?? |
