Fearless Announces Sister Label, Old Friends Records

Fearless Records has announced a sister label called Old Friends Records. A statement from president and founder, Bob Becker, can be found in the replies.

Drew Beringer 10/24/12 11:10 AM

Quote"Old Friends came about from us being fans of other styles of music, in addition to the genres that fall under the Fearless brand, and wanting to release records that were more geared towards the indie rock / alternative world." notes president and founder, Bob Becker.

"It will allow us to work with the bands that we discover that don't necessarily fit with Fearless, and release music geared towards alternative radio, without confusing our established audience. We're excited that we will be able to diversify and work with even more talented artists via Old Friends."

I like this idea, I hope it pans out well.

Did anyone else immediately think of Bob Barker?

UnderMyDreams 10/24/12 11:21 AM

Soo, is this just gonna be indie bands? Wonder what sort of alternative radio bands they're looking for.

MrDelux 10/24/12 11:28 AM

Who was their first sign?

guitarguy211 10/24/12 12:14 PM

This is a pretty cool idea. I'm interested to see who they get on here.

dmcaloon 10/24/12 12:15 PM

That's cool, although I never saw Fearless as a label that tried to strictly sign bands with one similar sound.

firewater 10/24/12 12:23 PM

Get The Maine back on there!

Dustin Harkins 10/24/12 04:22 PM

Oh god here comes Indie Goes Crunk.

phillipjacob 10/24/12 04:41 PM

This seems like an excellent idea. I can think of a plethora of bands that would fit.

Is Lydia signed?

boomer08 10/24/12 07:26 PM

I hate that indie rock is so popular. It's awful. The entire genre is awful.

I'm only interested in that if Travis Barker returns.

I think this is a great idea. A good... at least half of Fearless' lineup (the less metalcore side) make up some old favorites of mine but I've been digging the alt rock even more recently so the standards of Fearless for the sounds of alt rock sounds like a winning combo.

I don't think they're signed. But they most definitely should be. Talented dudes.

kbomb001 10/25/12 12:58 AM

BobDylanismyman 10/25/12 03:35 AM

maybe they should start a dubstep subsidiary too... whatevers selling bro

mikenewsbears 10/31/12 11:18 AM

Instantly thought of "Rushmore Records" (Drive-Thru Records sister label). Really suprised I'm the first to comment about that haha.

I had my doubts but after reading the press release, great decision by Fearless Records. Indie music will save "rock & roll" (if you even wanna call it that). Watch.

Marissacre 11/08/12 03:03 AM

I hope they'll sign hellogoodbye, if they haven't already. Not looking forward to whatever "Indie Goes..." they'll inevitably release.
