kidinthebushes 10/24/12 04:19 PM

I was just thinking about them yesterday.

They made it longer than most neon/pop rock bands did.

lp670sv 10/24/12 04:20 PM

Goddammit....

RockVocalPower 10/24/12 04:20 PM

Least surprising news in a while. Their last record was kind of a dud.

tomtom94 10/24/12 04:23 PM

Kind of gutted they pulled out of their UK tour now.

TheRealJohnOC 10/24/12 04:23 PM

I'll be there on the 13th just for Conditions.

hiya 10/24/12 04:28 PM

kind of a shame, will be at the NYC show.

The Gunz Show 10/24/12 04:28 PM

this sucks. such a hard working band too. been seeing them for yeeeears now. since like powerspace and automatic loveletters first ever tour and shit. lotta good memories.

unfortunately i see a lot of this happening to a lot of bands in the next year or so. :(

gonna play them all night on tonight's the gunz show.

justinwho 10/24/12 04:29 PM

bummed.

kismet 10/24/12 04:31 PM

These hiatuses are killing me. I'll definitely be at the Buffalo show.

brandon_260 10/24/12 04:32 PM

This band is not fun to watch live.

Troll somewhere else.

stfu_man 10/24/12 04:44 PM

I dont think i knew denny was in this band!

kskillzz 10/24/12 04:48 PM

Damn, I always thought they were one the more mainstream accessible pop punk bands out there, this is really a shame.

PerfectChaos337 10/24/12 04:50 PM

Seems like a terrible time to be in a band lately. At least a decently aged pop-punk band. I knew it's been getting harder for bands to continue with the state of the industry, economic tough times, etc, but this is getting ridiculous. I can't help but wonder who will be next. I've got a lot of ideas though, unfortunately. I dislike most of the music that's involved in the popular underground right now, and it sucks to have to witness the list of active bands I like dwindle down one by one.

I wasn't huge into Every Avenue, but I liked them a lot more than their peers. Seems like they were just in the right place at the right time, even though that first record really rules. They did their sound a lot more genuinely than other bands involved in their scene. They were pretty good live too - I caught them at Warped once and expected them to suck, but they were actually pretty tight. They say this is a hiatus, but I think bands say that just to not entirely devastate their hardcore fans. I don't see them returning.

Also, funny to see people consider them a "neon" band. Besides the cover of the first album, I never really thought of them to have that aesthetic. Although, I guess they get lumped into that category because of the bands they toured with.

mynameisgeneric 10/24/12 04:52 PM

I remember in high school buying their EP at McDonalds during lunch one day, seriously impressed this band got so far and made so many solid records. I'm interested to see how they're going to pull off playing a show at the Grotto though. I'm gonna be bummed if that sells out in 5 seconds and I miss it.

Now get Heirs play. Cmon.

Searos 10/24/12 04:53 PM

I honestly thought they were on the right direction with their last album so this is a bit of a shame but hopefully they will come back for another album. Picture Perfect was fun and Bad Habits showed a real improvement on sound. A lot of bands sound the same but something about them always stood out to me.

HCO SF 87 10/24/12 04:53 PM

I feel like this band never lived up to the potential they displayed on their first album. Picture Perfect was alright, but Bad Habits pretty much sucked.

galkain 10/24/12 04:56 PM

Happy Wilson is on this. Will have to go now.

lp670sv 10/24/12 04:56 PM

I don't know about the other venues but the place those chose for the Buffalo date doesn't make any sense. It's literally a bar with a stage. A buddies band played there a few weeks ago and nearly filled it up, there is no way they are going to pack everyone in that wants to see them one last time.

makeasound 10/24/12 04:56 PM

Bummed this isn't coming out west, but from a financial standpoint I completely understand.

Always enjoyed their music.

Journey408 10/24/12 04:58 PM

me & Buddy Nielsen will be at every show

guitarguy211 10/24/12 04:59 PM

Man, this sucks. Too bad I can't make one of those last shows.

Great band live, and I loved both Picture Perfect and Bad Habits, plus they're awesome people. One of the most genuine takes on the pop-rock sound, and I really thought they still had room to climb.

EndlessPrisoner 10/24/12 05:04 PM

Band was very solid. Fewer solid tracks with every album, but the first album in particular was pop rock gold.

You like We Are The In Crowd. there's no difference between the quality of either bands.
And I like them both.

MetroWestFilms 10/24/12 05:04 PM

I really liked this band, I've been waiting for this announcement for a while now.

cavanaughpark09 10/24/12 05:05 PM

Super bummed. I was just thinking about how I haven't seen them in over 2 years, but man I've had fun a so many of their shows. Definitely going to make it into Boston for the show, even though I have no idea where that place is.

Ohaidere 10/24/12 05:07 PM

About time

jlinitz 10/24/12 05:07 PM

You guys didn't like Bad Habits? its not like their old stuff but i really like that album. Different sound and had a bunch of songs that i really related to

Hahaha you don't know me at all if you think I like WATIC. I am one of their most vocal non-supporters on this site. But you're right, there isn't much difference. One awful pop band down... more to go.

All of you stop crying. The singer will be on The Voice next season.

Seriously. I feel like they could have a good enough turnout for Town Ballroom at least.

granted they were opening for Yellowcard, but that was the venue they used last time they came through. At least club infinity. Mohawk place is so tiny.

He could and I wouldn't care. I enjoy him but he doesn't pay my bills so I don't care what he does. Nice try though.

Jason Tate 10/24/12 05:49 PM

All the neon bands are slowing going the way of the buffalo.

So much better than most other poppy pop punk/rock bands around these days. Shh. Just Go With it was one of my favorite albums in high school. Yesterday This Time Next Year and now EA, common man! Stop it!

I had no idea This Time Next Year broke up. It is a shame cause they were great at the Pop Punk's Not Dead tour. I did however see if Drop Out Of Life was still available on vinyl since I never picked it up.

All 3 first pressing variants are 5 dollars each.

Freshman15Davey 10/24/12 06:09 PM

That's pretty shitty. I enjoyed everything they released except their last full length.
