ABSOLUTExclusive: Aaron Rothe
Following successful stints with Drop Dead, Gorgeous and Sonny Moore, keyboardist Aaron Rothe began working on solo material. His long-awaited debut, The Freaks EP, will be released on October 31st. The Halloween release is appropriate, as the music sounds like Lady Gaga and Marilyn Manson had a baby. Don't believe me? Stream the first track, "Freaks," on his AP.net profile.

Aaron's mad talented but I can't tell if I like it or not.
|
i'm liking it! thanks for the heads up, alex!
|
his voice is too pretty for this kind of music
|
I'm pretty sure he was in this band before, right? I'm not sure what to expect.

Aaron is cool, but I don't like it. It sounds way too boring, like a pop industrial kind of thing. He has a great voice though, can't take that away from him. Reminds me of Cove Reber.

Was never a fan of DDG, but after he left he released a few solo songs which I really liked. They were pretty plain and simple; just him and a guitar, or him and playing piano, and he was singing his heart out. I really liked those songs. With this one, I definitely like he took a poppy approach, but it just doesn't feel right.. seems something is missing. I don't know what.

This is awful.

I can't think of many bands I found more annoying than DDG back in the "screamo" days.
