In future news, Mindless Self Indulgence have broken up but now all own yachts

Blink2226 10/26/12 10:25 AM

haha wtf who who would buy this?

absolution 10/26/12 10:26 AM

pretty rabid fan base -- this will get funded.

Gerard Way.

luqmanhakim 10/26/12 10:29 AM

Title win.

Gunstarheroes 10/26/12 10:32 AM

Well, on the plus side, they are selling a digital copy of the album for a dollar, which is cool. Then again, why not just fucking release the album?

irthesteve 10/26/12 10:33 AM

will most definitely be funded

buddah knome 10/26/12 10:34 AM

Thought the goal was high but really a buck for a whole album? the incentives are extremely worth the price tags.

PermanentTourists 10/26/12 10:38 AM

Those are actually great rewards. Too bad this band is horrible but it will be funded especially if it's a dollar for the album.

Punkdc 10/26/12 10:39 AM

Just me or kinda really crappy rewards as well?

Steve Alcala 10/26/12 10:40 AM

$1 for a digital download of the new album? For a high priced Kickstarter, this is actually feasible and those rewards are nice and have good value. Too bad I don't enjoy MSI.

Woops. Clearly didnt read far enough. Ouch, and the last statement is very demeaning.

Yeah, $50 for vinyl is obscene.

Twikki 10/26/12 10:44 AM

i don't think this band learnt how to say please and thank you

Archael 10/26/12 10:44 AM

band sucks

dmcaloon 10/26/12 10:45 AM

Yeah, that $1 download is good. That's it. Everything else is overpriced because they're making shirt/hoodies exclusively for this Kickstarter. And they're selling a backdrop for $2,000... and none of the pledges stack up. You have to make multiple accounts to get multiple rewards, paying separately.

SteveD 10/26/12 10:48 AM

l o l

Spencer Control 10/26/12 10:50 AM

Really dislike the band, but not a horrible Kickstarter... I guess...

NorthstarPark 10/26/12 10:55 AM

Those pledges are shit, what a bunch of assholes. I'm glad I never liked them.

Joey-Wan Kenobi 10/26/12 10:59 AM

".... IT IS UNHARMED FOR NOW !!!! IF YOU EVER WANT TO HEAR IT, THIS KICK STARTER PAGE MUST REACH 150,000 IN INCENTIVES ....IF WE DON'T REACH THIS GOAL, WE WILL NEVER RELEASE THIS NEW M$I RECORD EVER !!!!!! "

yeah, okay...

edit: the touch on the $5000.00 pledge was nice "Album not included, you can clearly afford to buy that shit separately." well played...

Steve Alcala 10/26/12 11:01 AM

Also, if thats the cover, it seems an awful lot like Peace'd Out's concept, with the universe peering out a coffin shaped cut out

Holy shit you're right. this just gets worse

Brandon Allin 10/26/12 11:05 AM

The $5,000 pledge option is probably one of the lamest things I've ever read.

emmx8D 10/26/12 11:07 AM

"album not included, you can clearly afford to buy that shit separately"

hahaha, charming

Jaytothesyg 10/26/12 11:07 AM

People already did the $3,000 and $2,000 options.... Ugh

TheRealJohnOC 10/26/12 11:09 AM

This band is awful. Saw them at Projekt Revolution 07 and everyone basically walked away.

ConnorCorruptNJ 10/26/12 11:11 AM

I would fund if I had money haha

Gunstarheroes 10/26/12 11:12 AM

So i'm gonna guess their cult following isn't really on AP, is it? I really remember them being pretty popular back when their last album hit? I'm just curious if i'm an idiot or if they really were a thing.

Mikey Paine 10/26/12 11:15 AM

Wow, two people payed 400, one payed 2,000 and one played 3,000. Good for them.

Their kickstarter has barely been up for a day and they've already made over 20 grand and they've just sold out a number of UK shows. They've definitely got a solid fanbase.

thebestkylever 10/26/12 11:36 AM

So from what I gather... The record is already made, and they're just holding it hostage until their fans collectively cough up 150k? Pretty dickblasty, but I guess that's one way to make sure you recoup expenses from making your shitty record.

Seriously? Fuck these guys.

Gunstarheroes 10/26/12 11:41 AM

The only thing is, MSI has always had this act of being "dicks" like that. I don't know why this seems so deplorable and surprising when they pull this shit all the time. I don't think the record will go unreleased if it isn't funded

I actually think that's really cool. If I was super rich, and actually liked this band, I would totally do that. Having a song named after you would be pretty awesome.

Mattylikesfilms 10/26/12 12:02 PM

LOL.

Isn't Gerard Way married to one of the members?

I think this is a pretty safe assumption. I've never listened to them, but the songs they play at the end sound (if those are new) releasable in their current state - so who knows.

leftapart 10/26/12 12:42 PM

I've never even heard of these guys yet they've already managed to piss me off.

TheRxBandit 10/26/12 12:49 PM

I cannot believe there are people that like this band.

Feenucks 10/26/12 01:00 PM

No MSI record could possibly cost that much to make.

blackmold 10/26/12 01:38 PM

I'm not a huge fan of these guys but I'm sure if they saw these replies, they'd be laughing. They try to be controversial so the fact that their Kickstarter is pissing everybody off probably makes them happy. Especially since they probably know it'll get funded.

For a vinyl that is only available through this and will never be printed again, it doesn't seem that bad to me.

The bassist, who is actually pretty hot.

Loved them when i was 15, cant listen to them now.

Scrawns 10/26/12 02:29 PM

Confide asks for 35,000 and this band wants 150 lol

Freshman15Davey 10/26/12 02:53 PM

150,000?!? Is the studio on fucking Mars?!

SupMikecheck 10/26/12 03:06 PM

terrible

I meant them not even giving you a digital copy of the album because you can clearly afford it yourself. That's some kind of trivial bullshit.

Sure it is. Plenty of smaller bands do runs of like 500 and still keep the cost WAY below $50

TerrancePryor 10/26/12 05:28 PM

Love this band but damn. Jimmy could just record the damn thing in his basement and have it mastered somewhere. Ha.

Djentleman 10/26/12 06:09 PM

that's enough to pay for my school loans. def more worthy than this shitty "band"

Coverbydesign 10/26/12 06:53 PM

Fuck this band.
