Epic Drops Death Grips

Epic Records has dropped Death Grips from its roster.

incognitojones 11/01/12 01:42 PM

Punk as fuuuuck

kcpunk 11/01/12 01:42 PM

Not too surprising at this point. I'm sure DG will be able to stay pretty successful though. Hopefully it won't set them back at all.

Holly HoX! 11/01/12 01:43 PM

Who fucking cares?

Honestly, Death Grips is so fucking stupid for pulling all this drama bullshit. Equally stupid is Epic signing them in the first place. Just dumb all around.

Having said that, I will never pay for their music, but I'm seeing them live next month.

Stay noided

Jeff_Ryan 11/01/12 01:54 PM

So unsurprising that it's barely news

Mattylikesfilms 11/01/12 01:55 PM

Who?

Rysker6 11/01/12 01:56 PM

Epic drop a lot of artists/bands, none too surprising really.

Ryan Dennehy 11/01/12 01:59 PM

LOL. Yeah, seconded...

"Says the guy who has NO idea what's going on"

Jake Jenkins 11/01/12 02:03 PM

this has all been a little dumb but their music is still incredible.

Crimson_Curse 11/01/12 02:07 PM

Right, but this one is actually less surprising than all of the others because they pretty obviously breached their contract.

It's a supergroup that contains members of Queen, Nirvana, and Tupac.

Kelly Doherty 11/01/12 02:30 PM

I really don't get Death Grips. I think he's shit, basically.

Sorry, thanks! I thought it was just one rapper. Even worse though, multiple people thing this music is a good idea.

Adam Pfleider 11/01/12 02:36 PM

someone should tell Epic they're still listed on its site.

Never heard of this guy actually, I just commenting on Epic. But, have a splendid afternoon.

StepsInADance 11/01/12 02:48 PM

Death Grips fucked up pretty nasty. Epic Records' quote about the publicity stunts is spot on and really the best way to describe the whole thing.

Steeeve Perry 11/01/12 03:15 PM

Yeah, Death Grips basically did this for publicity. "Our new record is definitely NOT going to get a 10 from the Needle Drop, what do we do?" "Stick it online for free so nobody can complain and, in doing so, stick it to The Man. All Epic does is fund us anyway, assholes." "Great thinking, now somebody will talk about us despite this record."

jesse_hitz 11/01/12 03:51 PM

Death Grips are fucking awesome for pulling this shit even if it's just a publicity stunt. People now know them and it's punk as fuck. Top of that they got badass tunes!

SHESmyRUSHMORE 11/02/12 07:22 PM

i enjoyed the album.

Zack Haughton 11/03/12 05:24 AM

Band is amazing, but why do they have to be so damn Death Grip-py all the time? Signing a contract then breaching said contract to keep a promise they made to their fans sounds noble but in real life is a huge no-no
