The Muppets Most Wanted (Bobin; 3/21/2014)

Disney officially announced today that The Muppets 2 will release on December 20, 2013. James Bobin will return as director and Bret McKenzie will once again provide music for the movie.

Few details are known at this point, but the plot is said to have the Muppets in a caper comedy (akin to The Great Muppet Caper) that takes them overseas to Europe. Jason Segel will not return as Gary, but his Muppet pal Walter will have a solid role in the movie. The only casting confirmed is that Christoph Waltz will star as a villainous Interpol inspector, but expect more casting and cameos to be announced in the coming weeks with filming due to begin in January.

Already?

If that's the final film title, it's quite misleading

Live action kids franchises typically post a quick turnaround time to keep the characters present in their minds. Hence, why we got 3 Alvin and the Chipmunks abortions in 5 years. haha

Regardless, they announced pretty soon after The Muppets hit last year that they'd be pursuing a sequel for 2013.

I think canon went out the door with Muppet Treasure Island. hahaha

I was kind of disappointed that Segel apparently isn't involved as well, but Bobin, Bret and Waltz count for quite a bit.

Christopher Waltz is certainly interesting casting.

At first, I was disappointed, but, with a January start, there's no way he'll have time with HIMYM still filming then. It would be nice to get a cameo, but I wouldn't want it to be forced.

Bummed no Segel, but still, yayyy!

I will always watch anything that features Muppets ever.

True. Apparently Nicolas Stoller is back as a writer as well, so three out of four is good enough haha.
