Miles better Than Uno

It has it's lows but Tracks 7-10 and 12-13 are some of the best songs the band has done in years.

theHECKLER 11/06/12 10:18 AM

oh shit really excited when my roommates parents leave i will listen to it lol

Portugal4142 11/06/12 10:37 AM

Should've pulled the best 10 songs from the 3 albums and released one good album. Quality > Quantity. I honestly don't even want to sift through all these songs to find the 3 good ones like I had to on Uno because even the good ones weren't that great.

Light_Grenades 11/06/12 10:43 AM

Skip Nightlife and the rest is pretty damn enjoyable.

ghelms88 11/06/12 10:47 AM

Very enjoyable album so far. Better than Uno on first listen.

hectorial85 11/06/12 10:54 AM

Can't wait to give it a go.

RyanGarner 11/06/12 11:03 AM

The guitar tones on these albums lack any punch whatsoever.

duritzfan13 11/06/12 11:14 AM

"Nightlife" is pretty cool.

Zummy 11/06/12 11:37 AM

I liked !Uno! and although I am not all the way through listening to !Dos! yet, I really like it. These albums have gotten a lot of flack but I don't think they're that bad. I think it's way better than 21st Century. And less complex then American Idiot (which is a good thing)

edit: Not digging Nightlife on first listen.

Fame<Infamy 11/06/12 11:42 AM

Am I the only one who can't get this to work?

heyzombiehitler 11/06/12 11:54 AM

Uno was okay, but this is pretty good.

cowlord 11/06/12 12:09 PM

I don't like take out Ashley and Nightlife, and this album would be great. Could do without "Fuck Time" too. Shoulda just released that as Foxboro. I really like "Baby Eyes".

Fox83 11/06/12 12:12 PM

My 2012 Green Day album, so far, is:

Nuclear Family
Stay The Night
Let Yourself Go
Fell For You
Angel Blue
Sweet 16
See You Tonight
Stop When The Red Lights Flash
Lazy Bones
Stray Heart
Baby Eyes
Amy

...now to complete my "album" with what I take off of Tre! - the rest of the songs I can do without.

I actually like the springy twang of the power pop tones they're going for on these. A nice change.

ExtremeAvalanch 11/06/12 12:42 PM

This is such a step up from Uno. It doesn't sound recycled, Dos even sounds fresh at times. "Lazy Bones" itself could be a whole new direction for the band.

Jason Tate 11/06/12 01:03 PM

Honestly a contender for worst album of the year.

Definitely agree.

Lazy Bones, Stray Heart, Ashley, and Amy are the only songs I fully enjoy in this album. I agree with the belief that the band would've been better off releasing one good album than the trilogy.

evanmeindl 11/06/12 01:44 PM

This does not suck near as badly as everybody makes it seem.. Still agree with the majority by saying a 12 song album of all of the best tracks from the series woulda been the better move/made for a great album

Yeah for real. Shocked by the positive comments in here / people saying this is better than Uno. Neither album is good but I find this to be leagues worse than Uno.

Clockwise 11/06/12 01:47 PM

Love all of the trilogy songs so far, so I still think it was a great idea.

tdlyon 11/06/12 01:59 PM

Jesus Christ, did Green Day murder the AP staff's family or something? This is awesome. I loved Uno, and I think this Dos is way better. Really psyched for Tre.

Gunstarheroes 11/06/12 02:22 PM

Yeah, really. AP staff seems pretty convinced ahead of time that it would be bad. By no means is this Warning/American Idiot good, but Dos>>>>>>Uno by a country mile.

You said only a couple days ago that you listened to it once and deleted it. What a fair way to truly judge an album.

PS, you know Thomas doesn't like it now, better make sure he's the one to review it!

It's that bad. I don't need more than one listen on this kind of music ... after some 15 years of this, I am pretty damn good at what I do.

The Revisionist 11/06/12 03:00 PM

I like Uno so, so much more than this.

I liked it when I first heard some of the songs off Uno but it really got old quick. Probably doesn't help that most of the songs aren't up to par with what they're capable of.

Alex26 11/06/12 03:08 PM

Overall Uno > Dos
However, I have a feeling Tre > Uno
"The Forgotten" is one of the best ballads I have heard in a long time.
The songs on Dos just sound sort of thrown together. There are some good tracks however. IMO Uno was a much more solid record and better quality songs.

Liam_Pace 11/06/12 03:39 PM

Favorite album of the year so far.

Apparently not, if you literally listened to an album once (probably not even paying full attention), and then decided it was the worst album of the year. That sure sounds like bias to me.

leftapart 11/06/12 03:56 PM

So many mixed comments in here, guess I'll just have to listen to it myself

Pretty damn good at judging albums based on one listen? Congrats, I guess.

djrossstar2009 11/06/12 04:03 PM

Perhaps he is one of those people who only enjoyed Dookie and wants every record Green Day make to sound like Dookie. Uno! and Dos! are both incredible.

Donnie Ruth 11/06/12 04:48 PM

Honestly, both albums sound the same thing to me. You can scramble any combination of songs from both albums into one and it'd sound normal.

These songs are all the same thing of basic powerchords and generic Green Day. Because these methods are the basis for all songs they've produce, how the hell will they sound refreshing after this trilogy is done after releasing 37 songs? They're future looks so rancid.

1993mic 11/06/12 04:50 PM

Much better than Uno! Except Nightlife, that one just sucks...

jasonjeffrey961 11/06/12 04:55 PM

Amy is amazing. Its different for a green day song but its beautiful.

jimmyiscool 11/06/12 05:00 PM

It's a sad day when a new Green Day album stream only warrants 3 pages in 10 hours. They really fucked up the marketing with this trilogy. No one cares.

Not a bad observation. Think they would have made a bigger "splash" if they released all of them at once?

Jason Tate hates anything that doesnt take itself too seriously like he does.

harley7733 11/06/12 06:25 PM

The AP Staff is super wrong about this one. This is just an album of no frills rock and roll, the band seems to be actually having a blast. It's the most fun Green Day record since Kerplunk and a worthy sequel to the Foxboro Hot Tubs album. Vocally, this is the best Billie has ever sounded. This isnt the type of record to over analyze, crack open a 40, spark a joint, and dance with your friends.

zporter92 11/06/12 06:25 PM

Lol what a fucking tool. "I'm pretty good at what I do." Who the fuck says that.

Edit: I'm waiting until I get the cd to listen to it, but that comment just really pissed me off.

jjnunn118 11/06/12 06:30 PM

Yeah awful

thecobrakais 11/06/12 06:30 PM

i seriously can't believe the praise these shit albums are getting. i absolutely love green day, but these albums are not good. period.

I like you.
