This band is too good.

Awesome!

JuneJuly 11/08/12 12:32 PM

whaaaat why didn't I know they were going on his show?

this band is quickly becoming one of my favorites. so, so good.

EndlessPrisoner 11/08/12 12:33 PM

seeing and interviewing them tonight too, can't fucking wait.
her voice seemed a tad off on some of the parts, but I mean, it's a huge performance, must have been super tough.

SkateFirm21 11/08/12 12:35 PM

I love everything this band does. way too good.

websmith 11/08/12 12:43 PM

God that's cute.

i2ockbotm 11/08/12 12:45 PM

Where is the bass coming from? Is it just a track they play along with?

obrookso 11/08/12 12:59 PM

I love this band. And thought her voice was perfect for the song in this.

The lack of a bassist did erk me a little though. It removes a part of the performance aspect, it feels less real.

I'm so happy for them, first the windows commercial and now on Fallon.
Threads is my AOTY

I believe so. I saw them live at the bootleg theatre in LA and I saw no bassist even on the side playing.

I am super stoked for Now,Now! Threads is amazing and one of my favorite releases this year.

It's a strong contender for my AOTY. It's going up against Silversun Pickups - Neck of The Woods and The Maine - Pioneer.

Yes. I talked to Kevin Medina, their sound tech, after a show in April and he confirmed that the bass tracks are programmed into Cacie's MacBook. I don't blame the band; it's likely they can't reasonably afford a touring bassist.

They also played "Thread" as the song that aired on television last night. It can be seen here.

am i the only person who doesnt like them at all? i found them super boring and incredibly repetitive opening for MCS. i dont see anything interesting about them

I wouldn't say they're repetitive. The record they're touring off of is very cohesive, so each tune in their 6-7 song opening set just has a similar vibe. If you want to listen, here are five diverse Now, Now songs:

- "Giants"
- "Dead Oaks"
- "Shifting"
- "Wolf"
- "Friends With My Sister"

shit, i liked them when they played with MCS in seattle. this is awesome.

DevinRosni 11/08/12 03:11 PM

At first I was bummed because I thought that Prehistoric was the only song they played, which is good, but I really wanted to hear Thread or Lucie, Too. Thankfully they played Thread. I absolutely love this band.

True statement. More adorable-ness can be found at this awesome fan-run Tumblr.

topher465 11/08/12 04:33 PM

Love this band. Vocal performances were pretty bad on "Thread" though. Especially the back-ups.

SuchAPerson22 11/08/12 04:35 PM

Love to see this band grow. I'm glad to see them getting some of the recognition they deserve!

BIGSALE 11/08/12 07:42 PM

i would've perfered if they had played thread but it was awesome anyway seeing them get some attention

I literally thought the same thing when I saw a Ampeg cab without any of them playing bass. I do this live through an EQ/DI rack & maximizer into the PA. The results are pretty great considering it's an bass emulator. However, if you were to run the signal through a real bass cab and head like they do, you can hear the awesome results. It might feel unnatural at times since you wont get those sutle nuances from a human playing, but like CallMeTro said, it's likely they can't afford a touring bassist.

rbf737 11/09/12 06:37 AM

I didn't get a chance to see them open for MCS last night, only heard they had played. I'm surprised the first opening band is playing a late night TV show; I'll have to check em out.

oh no, how they can't afford it? Don't they know that I'd be happy to play bass for them and even add my money to the business! ; ) ..hell, if I lived in America of course hah, not in fucking Poland : ) ...anyway, I also understand that fact seriously, but they've got really interesting drum beats and this bass is also quite important, I hope they'll find someone to perform it.

And both these songs are amazing by the way.
