Acoustic "Destination: Beautiful"

Dave Elkins of Mae will be performing Destination: Beautiful live, acoustic, in its entirety online tomorrow. Only 5 tickets are left.

Alex DiVincenzo 11/09/12 11:52 AM

Whoa, that's pretty cool. I hope someone rips it ;-)

Hojonny 11/09/12 12:09 PM

Bought. Only saw them once live and it was towards the end, performance was very lackluster. Very excited for this.

rogerroger 11/09/12 12:36 PM

that'd be a good one.

quick question tho: how does an online show sell out?

I'd pay to see this as well, as it is helping fund schematic, however work will be in the way. I wish stageit would allow tippers to download or re-stream the show that is paid for. I'd be willing to pay more if I could get Mp3s for my iPhone. They should look into selling songs on this site from certain shows, if the artists will allow it. I think an on demand option for like a week after the show for tippers would be amazing and I'd be able to view and support many artists I love. But like I said, usually I'm at work when these shows air. Just a thought

Only 3 years until the 10th year of that album. I would pay just to see them play this album with nobody else and leave after if they wanted.

Dumb work.

An Everglow 10 year tour would be awesome too!

Alison1488 11/09/12 01:08 PM

Fuck work for making me miss my chance to see this. One of my all-time favorite albums.

That's the idea.

Jamos4184 11/09/12 01:09 PM

Thought this meant they were releasing an acoustic version of the album. The acoustic version of "Giving It Away" is one of my favorite Mae songs.

fakeyellowlight 11/09/12 01:35 PM

I get it, but slightly confused as to why this couldn't just be like $5/bucks with no cap on the tickets sold. $10 for a live stream is kind of silly, as much as I love the album and as much I'd pay to see it in person.

emo_boo 11/09/12 02:46 PM

paying to watch a band live on the internet- no thanks. I'd rather buy a dvd or see them live.

The Gunz Show 11/09/12 02:55 PM

FUCK. wish i got in in time!

Their farewell tour was The Everglow in its entirety.

Fuuuuuck. I really wanna see this. Especially for Skyline Drive.

Truth. That and the acoustic version of Sun.

And Tisbury Lane.

And Awakening.

I guess what I'm saying is that was one hell of a b-sides album.

Anyway, I'll be watching this stream tomorrow. Way excited.

Pretty sure only one or two stops of the tour got that.

corny shit

I respect Dave and everything he's doing with Schematic, but isn't it a little shitty of him to continue milking Mae's fanbase to fund his new project? it's not just this either.

I have a few thoughts for you.

1 - This isn't milking the fanbase. He's not putting out some lame Greatest Hits album, he's offering up his time to play acoustic shows online for people still interested. There's a line somewhere that says what is and what isn't milking, but for my money this isn't it.

2 - Why would you think at least a faction of Mae's installed fanbase wouldn't be interested in Dave's new project? It would seem to make sense that if they loved his music with Mae, they would potentially want to know about his new project.

3 - "it's not just this either": Explain?

mike'smannequin 11/11/12 01:45 AM

that is awesome. Love Mae so much

From Mae's Facebook:

"As soon as Schematic hits 50% of our goal, we will celebrate with an online acoustic performance of The Everglow from top to bottom!!"
