Daytrader Break Up

Daytrader have broken up.

runningohfive 11/09/12 12:10 PM

Well...that was fast. That sucks, Twelve Years is a solid album.

Alison1488 11/09/12 12:11 PM

This sucks. They were one of my favorite fairly recent discoveries. I predicted they could have made a name for themselves if they kept going at the pace they were moving.

jordalsh 11/09/12 12:11 PM

This sucks so much. Twelve Years is one of my favorites of 2012.

Theow593 11/09/12 12:13 PM

NO

i JUST got into them! Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu uuuuuuuuck

Johnny Minardi 11/09/12 12:14 PM

I really liked their LP. Check it out if you haven't.

wall e 11/09/12 12:15 PM

fuck

brothemighty 11/09/12 12:16 PM

Whelp. I dug Twelve years. "Struggle With Me" will always be a classic.

low_rising 11/09/12 12:16 PM

damn this blows, loved the hell out of twelve years, also this seems so sudden, i mean was there even an explanation for tym's departure or this?

steve187 11/09/12 12:16 PM

not surprising after tym left

Theow593 11/09/12 12:16 PM

"after-image" will live on as one of the best songs of the genre

danieldanger 11/09/12 12:18 PM

NOW who am i gonna do album covers for?

NateFoundGlory 11/09/12 12:20 PM

At least they left behind Last Days of Rome and Twelve Years, two phenomenal releases. Hardly surprised, but incredibly bummed.

oneeightytwo 11/09/12 12:21 PM

Well... shit.

_><_ 11/09/12 12:22 PM

I must be the only one who really really really liked Last Days of Rome, but hated the LP.

mikeyg003 11/09/12 12:22 PM

well fuck. this really sucks. at least we have tym's solo stuff to look forward to.

Mario57 11/09/12 12:22 PM

thankfully Crime In Stereo came back, it still sucks though

They were destined to be great.

Alex DiVincenzo 11/09/12 12:29 PM

That's a shame

GetUpAndrew 11/09/12 12:29 PM

Not surprising, still a bummer though. They were such a good band.

i feel the exact same way

thedreamisdead 11/09/12 12:33 PM

Fuck. Great band, dug every release

kidinthebushes 11/09/12 12:36 PM

Such a promising band. Not surprising after their singer quit.

The LP really bored me.

bobsheiskawy 11/09/12 12:41 PM

surprise!

never got the hype, but i imagine it sucks for fans nonetheless.

Paris1nFlames 11/09/12 12:48 PM

Extremely sad about this... not surprised ... but extremely sad... they were my favorite "new" band

fishguts182 11/09/12 12:48 PM

damn this sucks I really got into their music after seeing them this past summer.

MXP 11/09/12 12:49 PM

:(

hiya 11/09/12 12:55 PM

going to miss seeing them play every few months, but this seems pretty logical since Tym's vocals were a pretty intricate part of the band. Every track they released was amazing though and I'm sure all the members will move onto other projects. Also I might be crazy for saying this, but I could totally see them reaching Acceptance status in a few years, being one of those bands everyone looks back on and likes and say it's a shame there was only one full-length album.

ACA 11/09/12 01:01 PM

At least they broke up before it got out of control and they ended up like Saosin, Senses Fail, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, and countless other bands with only one release of value (a debut EP) and a ton of trash.

Fight Fair, take note.

trojanick 11/09/12 01:22 PM

In a more just world, "kill all my friends" would've become the new "tell all your friends"

Lol you really are the worst.

positiv-o 11/09/12 01:30 PM

Damn, this definitely sucks! Got into them around the time that Twelve Years was released and I was so hoping to see them live. Obviously not happening...

Best of luck to Tym/rest of the band on their futures, I really look forward to any other music these guys put out there.

blackmold 11/09/12 01:35 PM

Sucks, but it makes sense. It wouldnt have been the same without Tym.

markyconnolly 11/09/12 01:38 PM

sucks. saw them in boston with jealous sound recently and it turned out to be their last show, glad i didn't decide to skip it..

Talked to a guy who was touring with them...apparently Tym was primadonna and really made it hard on everyone else to be in a band with him.

Protested Hero 11/09/12 01:49 PM

Well that's shit.

SteveLikesMusic 11/09/12 01:52 PM

Isn't this news like a month old?

PostSeasonShawn 11/09/12 01:54 PM

Damn. These guys were awesome...

Be sure to check out my band Post Season.

d00d81that 11/09/12 02:10 PM

im sad

ESundy36 11/09/12 02:10 PM

Not at all surprising but it still sucks.

Archael 11/09/12 02:11 PM

damn

Jake Jenkins 11/09/12 02:11 PM

their debut was pretty boring anyway

NewAgeofHorus 11/09/12 02:13 PM

This came out of nowhere. ):

xxshawn 11/09/12 02:26 PM

And Rise Records claims the life of another good band.

No, but it was inevitable after Tym left

Jack Appleby 11/09/12 02:42 PM

Tym left literally 3 days before their LA stop.
What happened to finding a new vocalist?

TriangularDuck 11/09/12 02:46 PM

Fuck this heteronormative earth.
