Adam of Story of the Year Video Interview

In a interview with Adam Russell of Story of the Year, found in the replies, he talks about his latest film project, what can be done to fix the music industry and he wouldn't be surprised if Story of the Year did something special next year for the 10th anniversary of their album Page Avenue. He also gives a little update on the band.

Would be so stoked on a 10 year tour. Until The Day I Die was the hardest song I ever heard in my life in 6th grade

The_Effort 11/12/12 11:19 AM

10 year tour and vinyl repress of Page Avenue would make me a happy camper.

prettyLUSH16 11/12/12 11:23 AM

Went to the page avenue show last year at the pagent in the lou, best show ever.

but i want a In the wake if determination show.

Would pay a lot for that.

ACA 11/12/12 11:27 AM

Awesome live band, and a ten-year tour would be great.

anthonydarko 11/12/12 11:28 AM

Would go to a 10th anniversary show for Page Avenue, I owe it to a teenage me.

Me too, Page Avenue has the most nostalgia but In the wake is my favorite musically.

tyler2tall147 11/12/12 12:01 PM

I talked to a band this summer who said they might coheadline the page avenue tour, this site will explode when/if its announced

bdonne07 11/12/12 12:23 PM

Story of the Year is my favorite live band, and I'm not embarassed to say it.

That said, I really hope this documentary gets made too.

mbarney82 11/12/12 12:39 PM

would love to see a 10 year. havent listened to that album in a while. great great album

_thisisme* 11/12/12 12:48 PM

Did they reach their Kickstarter goal actually? Or is it still going? Can't listen to the interview now so don't know if he's talking about that

kidinthebushes 11/12/12 12:49 PM

I'd be absolutely down for a Page Avenue 10 year tour. I'm kicking myself for not driving 5 hours to see them play it front to back in St Louis a few years ago.

They never pressed Page Avenue before.

Their performance at Warped 2009 was one of my favorite during my 9 years of attending Warped.

Djentleman 11/12/12 01:53 PM

Not favorite, but definitely top 10 in terms of live shows. It pains me they've never made it bigger after Page Avenue considering their live shows are superb.

Mattylikesfilms 11/12/12 03:46 PM

In The Wake is their only album I like at all. I am looking forward to that doc however about the music industry.

I'd take a Wake tour over Page Avenue any day.

MJSchmidt 11/12/12 04:37 PM

I definitely backed this project because I respect these guys and I think it could be interesting. I don't think it's intended to provide many answers, but it should be insightful and provide knowledge to people not associated with the industry.

Did not realize that. First pressing then! Either way, I want it.

spawnofz 11/12/12 05:09 PM

I haven't had the time to listen to the interview yet, is there any talk of new material, I would kill for another CD by these guys.

Most sane people would. And I feel Black Swan is criminally underrated. Their best record in my opinion.

ARo2431 11/12/12 06:13 PM

So many awesome memories of this band. They let my friend go on stage once and play drums for a song. I would love to see Page Avenue front to back.

HogarthHughes 11/12/12 08:34 PM

Will always have love for these guys, even if I'm not quite as into them as I used to be. In the Wake and The Black Swan are still awesome albums.

Jenajena 11/12/12 08:51 PM

Honestly, I never got into this band other than Until The Day I Die and Anthem of Our Dying Day. But they are two of my all time favorite songs. They remind me of middle school and when most of my music was found through my older brother haha.

This. Can someone please sum up the most important details of the interview? I'm having a hard time understanding what Adam is saying

Memphis 11/13/12 05:24 AM

Love this band... I don't listen to them much anymore, but "And the Hero Will Drown" is still one of my all time favourite songs. I think I will listen to Page Avenue tonight.

All he really said about SOTY's future is that they'll never die, and 2013 holds good things for them.

iseejosh 11/13/12 06:01 AM

I really hope this movie gets made. Its so close to its kickstarter goal. Seems like a very interesting project to see.

I didn't realize these guys and Tiger Army had so much in common.

cirerelleum 11/13/12 07:58 AM

I'd love a In the Wake tour much more than Page Avenue. I'd definitely see either that came near me though. Keeping my fingers crossed the movie gets to happen.

mjpistons 11/13/12 09:36 AM

did I hear rumors about a co-headlining 10 year anniversary tour for Page Avenue and Yellowcard's Ocean Avenue? Or was I just dreaming?

Word. In the Wake was my favorite SOTY album. By far the most creative. I bench all the weights when I get my swoll on. Seriously, that CD is a fantastic rock and roll album.
