Matt Thiessen (Relient K) played two new songs at the Dear Jack's Benefit Concert. The first one is a new Relient K song, called "Sweeter." The second is a a song he wrote with his girlfriend, Jillia Jackson, called "Pot of Gold." Both are in the replies.

yep, shit like that sucks. I think I've been at two shows where there was no talking ever hahah and that was IIOI last month and his acoustic show in April. The quiet was awesome.

Relient K is my most anticipated for next year (or whenever it comes out). The other three new RK songs I've heard sound FANTASTIC.

Favorite band of all time, hands down.

I wonder if Matt will ever do another solo record/project....

He mentioned that along with Pot o Gold, he had a few other tracks that he has been writing in that vein with his wife while living in Nashville, so there are definitely enough tracks written for an EP at the very least

There was never an album or any sort of actual release. Just a few songs here and there.

Yeah, I was talking about the Earthquakes when I posted that. Not quite sure what a solo project may end up like, but I get the feeling it'd still be great.

A new Relient K album is one of the best things about next year though.

None of the songs that have been put on youtube that are supposed to be on the new album have even came close to FANSD. I know it's still early to judge, but I'm not hearing anything good coming out so far. Sweet, Pot of Gold, Part Time Lover, Boomerang, When You Were My Baby have all been really cheesy poppy sounding with shit lyrics.. Collapsible Lung is alright, but really simple and dull.

Just cheat on your girlfriend with Katy Perry again and make another perfect record. I mean, if that's what it takes, he's gonna have to take one for the fans haha

I;m really excited to see th continuing evolution of Relient K and thiessen as a songwriter.

Just by the way, he has a girlfriend (not married) her name is Jillia Jackson and she is a singer whom lives in nashville and she has a daughter called Addeline.
