Twenty One Pilots Video for "Holding On To You"

Twenty One Pilots' video for "Holding On To You" can be found in the replies. Do FBR have another massive hit on their hands, or is this one going to be a dud?

American kids will eat up this mess.~

JWillTrick 11/16/12 11:25 AM

I thought that was great.

Hit? Not that I have any hits ... half (or quarter) the bridge, reintroduce the chorus before the third verse, maintain a quarter kick through the song, cut first half of first post chorus (wurlitzer/drum interlude), chop it to 3:30, etc.

I'd support it.

I miss Chronic Future

NorthstarPark 11/16/12 11:33 AM

not l that l good (well in my opinion) His voice is nasally and the rapping is corny.

it automatically reminded me of this band as well. Time And Time Again was a jam. this song is okay

wait take that back, song's great besides the last prechorus which ruins the build up a bit.

deezee 11/16/12 11:58 AM

Terrible, absolutely terrible! He needs to stop rapping, it's so cheesy and makes the band look gimmicky. The singing parts are okay, though.

Seriously, the rapping ruins an other wise good song. Everything else is great, I'm surprised no one has told them the rapping cheapens their sound.

Catchy tune! Not so much a fan of the rapping verses or the length of the bridge.

Maybe because the rapping sounds fine?

Oh Ok disappointing lol. Anyway do you have anything by the band "The Future Lords?" It's the lead singer of Miniature Tigers and Chronic Future side project. Can't find more than a couple songs on their myspace.

bobsheiskawy 11/16/12 01:19 PM

not feeling it too much right now, but i could see it getting big.

this is going to be huge

Band puts on an unbelievable live show. It's two midwest kids doing what they love for the right reasons.

I lost it laughing at this.

mrgenious 11/16/12 03:47 PM

I don't mind the rapping, but they're definitely better when they stray from it. (see: House of Gold)

chrisdazzo 11/16/12 11:10 PM

I'll admit at times the rapping was weird and gimmicky, yes, but I'll give this band another chance once their new album drops. I want them to be better than this song.

kaylasananjou 11/17/12 08:12 AM

This band is so bad. I'm glad it looks like we've all agreed that the |'s in their name is stupid and we're not going to do it anymore.

ninthandash 11/17/12 09:18 AM

First two raps are pretty awesome IMHO. the lean wit it rock wit it kills it.

ValleyForge 11/17/12 09:25 AM

Love this song...You should see just how popular these guys are in their home town (Columbus). They sell out shows like all get out.

And for those who don't like the bridge/breakdown/whatever part at the end...it's obviously ironic. Listen to the lyrics:

Lean with it, rock with it
When we gonna stop with it?
Lyrics that mean nothing
We were gifted with thought

Is it time to move our feet
To an introspective beat
It ain't the speakers that bump hard
It's our hearts that make the beat

stuckonsmile 11/17/12 10:40 PM

I dig it. Who knows how far it will catch on, but I wish them luck--they're nothing but nice guys.

Word. Just saw them last night and they were great. I've never heard of them before and I normally don't listen to this kind of stuff a lot, but they have talented and sound really great.

Meeze 11/18/12 02:53 PM

I think these guys will be big. They are accessible, fascinating, and most importantly...entertaining.

Yeah but your favorite song is "Ohio is for lovers". And ironically they are from Ohio.

My exact thoughts. As soon as he started rapping, "Lean wit it, rock wit it," I didn't know what to think. Like someone mentioned before, it comes off more gimmicky at that point than being authentic.

Overall, I still think the song could be a HUGE hit. The verse have a fresh sound you wouldnt typically hear on the radio, and the "ah" in that pre-chours rule pretty hard. The chorus is catchy, and I'm also glad they went into that bridge after the second verse instead of another chorus (bridge instrumentation was pretty rad too). Even when the "lean wit it" part came in, they some how managed to save it and make it work with the way the arrangement built up. Just my opinon. Everyone's free to think what they want. That's why there's multiple genres of music. Everyone wins.

Still really interested to hear this album. Fueled By Ramen has been on fire lately with mainstream releases. They're doing big things.

gengen 11/19/12 10:46 AM

i like this band but i think this will be an FBR dud.
