Staff Recommendations: November 18th, 2012

Why do you stay until you see blood?
Ryan GardnerThe new Pentimento, P.O.S., Bad Books, and Anberlin records
Alex DiVincenzoDefinitely grab the new Pentimento, and donate if you like it (you will). Speaking of donations, The Swellers are donating 100% of digital sales of their killer new EP, Running Out of Places to Go, to Occupy: Sandy Relief NYC. And the new Geoff Rickly mixtape is cool.
Kelly DohertyAtom And His Package's Hair: Debatable has been cheering me up all week, Titus Andronicus' Local Business is a highlight of their back catalogue and Noah Gundersen is a recommendation for anyone who likes folk of any type.

A collab song in studio music video form called 'Rain' from two east coast (Long Island and Lowell) bands, Paris and Love, Robot. Somebody in the YouTube comments says that it's a rip-off of the Yeah Yeah Yeah's meets Paramore meets Flyleaf. Both of these bands deserve to be huge.

Also seeing Dr. Dog live, they are one of the best live bands I have ever seen. They seriously kill it every time I see them.

Oh and for my 21+ friends I recommend buying Pinnacle Pumpkin Pie Vodka and mixing it with Ginger Ale, it's the holidays in a glass. So damn good in the gullet.

Jeff do you wish you had a boyfriend? Is all you want out of life a pizza and a bottle of wine? How about a beach house or a suntan?

So stoked for his solo record in January, goddamn. Anyway...

Bad books II is a beautiful record. And Pentimento's record is equally as great. Two great bands doing what they love. What's not to like about that?

ParkwayTom 11/19/12 09:05 AM

Somebody suggested a band about a month and a half ago that was called sunken cities or something like that? I could be wrong, but I know "Cities" was in the title and the sounded a lot like Brand New. Was wondering if anyone could help me out?
