Saosin in the Studio

Saosin are in the studio ... end of the world is right on schedule.

Jake Jenkins 11/19/12 11:46 AM

i feel like this news gets posted once a year.

any word on a vocalist? better question, why do i even care?

Ryan Gardner 11/19/12 11:50 AM

Well...

brook183 11/19/12 11:50 AM

I care only because their S/T was such a huge album in my life. Really should not care at all about this band anymore.

JamesMichael 11/19/12 11:53 AM

I wish they'd just announce who is doing the vocals already.

amorning_ofsleep 11/19/12 11:53 AM

I still would love to have an instrumental album. But that's just me.

_><_ 11/19/12 11:53 AM

Nope.

JayDanielHammer 11/19/12 11:54 AM

I completely forgot there was another one after the S/T.

I liked Anthony's stuff more. I know, typical. They have the ability to write some sexy riffs. So..just do that.

henry chinaski 11/19/12 11:55 AM

Great news.

MJSchmidt 11/19/12 11:55 AM

So I guess this is still a thing. Didn't think I would see +44 and Saosin news posted in the same day again. Any other brain busters today, Jason?

cowlord 11/19/12 11:56 AM

lol k

Their original EP was all instrumental -- that's how I was first given it.

let's be honest, though, the band that wrote that EP is long gone. don't get me wrong, i would LOVE to be proven wrong. i just dont see it happening.

Ohaidere 11/19/12 12:03 PM

Inb4 they don't release an album

Stephin_DC 11/19/12 12:04 PM

Yeah they are definitely talented enough to pull off an instrumental record.

Why did Cove leave exactly?
I always assumed it was because they were disappointed with his song writing on the last record but I imagine it was more than that

His vocals had gotten pretty awful, partly because of smoking I think? The last time I saw them was on Warped Tour and they were terrible, especially Cove. I'd seen them many times, and it was really sad to watch.

Me either ... I dunno if they'll ever release anything again at this point.

PetitnaindesĪles 11/19/12 12:12 PM

i wish they'd stop teasing and tell us who's the singer. anyway the EP turns 10 next year

Born_For_This 11/19/12 12:16 PM

Just announce the vocalist and give us SOMETHING!

This is exactly what I came in to say.

ChaseTx 11/19/12 12:25 PM

Meh. They were never outstanding.

Seven Years is one of the most influential songs of its time. Saosin w/ Anthony would've continued to have been a HUGE band in the scene

and it's still the weakest song on that phenomenal EP.

blindrider529 11/19/12 12:29 PM

Love Sao, but until I get confirmation on who is doing vocals I just don't care.

Agreed, first time I saw them the blew my mind, then a few years ago I almost walked out - Cove was freaking terrible and mostly seemed uninterested

pepster50 11/19/12 12:35 PM

There self titled is still one of my favorites. Hope they can create something as good as that

NFG4ever 11/19/12 12:38 PM

The Self Titled is one of my favorite CDS of all time , it ment a lot too me in 2006 , I became a huge Cove fan and even a huge fan of the EP , that being said I moved on but news like this will still catch my attention .. I look forward to hearing what they pull off ..

specialeds281 11/19/12 12:40 PM

They should jump on the 10 year reunion tour train. Bring back Anthony for the tour...and while they are at it, let him do the vocals.

More proof that I was right about what I said to Jack.

steve187 11/19/12 12:45 PM

so was this just completely untrue then?

Yay... Now if we ever get to hear anything.

Yeah but we then got Circa Survive from Anthony. Would rather of had that then Saosin continue with Anthony.

They've tried, Anthony is uninterested. I'd love to see it but I respect his conviction (he'd undoubtedly make a pile of $ from even a brief reunion stint)

I just listened to their self titled full length earlier today.

No not even. I liked both albums Cove was on. I was just trying to say it's not like we got nothing out of Anthony leaving Saosin.

GetUpAndrew 11/19/12 01:07 PM

I'll give them a chance. Their self titled record was a masterpiece of mine, during high school.

skibby15 11/19/12 01:22 PM

i'm such a sucker for their s/t

leftapart 11/19/12 01:30 PM

I'm guessing it's going to turn into one of those situations where they're like 'oh hey guys we're recording finally after all these years!' and then a couple more years go by and we don't here anything from them, and then they break up, and then we all look back and are like 'whatever happened to that album they were supposedly recording'?

Rysker6 11/19/12 01:33 PM

I used to love Saosin, but with their parting ways with Cove being so cold, and the comments certain members have made about him, have left a bad taste in my mouth.

quickandsilver 11/19/12 02:02 PM

I bet my left nut that Anthony Green will be singing on the next record.

t00latef0rr0ses 11/19/12 02:06 PM

They are recording Mookie's Last Christmas Pt. 2.

NationalProduct 11/19/12 02:08 PM

Were you impressed with the instrumentals they released recently? I was let down by those tracks. I figured they would be awesome but they felt kinda boring IMO.
