Paranormal Activity 5 (October 25, 2013)

this franchise just won't die.

Quote:

On October 25th, 2013, you will have a choice: you can either continue the tradition of jump scares and cults getting caught on camera wrecking shit up late at night, or you can catch the final entry in Edgar Wright's "Blood and Ice Cream" trilogy. That's right, October 2013 is going to play host to a battle of box office dollars between PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 5 and THE WORLD'S END. So plan ahead, because for you fans of both franchises? Well, let's just say that I definitely don't envy you. Or you could just see them both, I suppose. There's that too.

Nothing is known yet about the sequel to PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 4, even so far as whether the movie's directing duo of Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman (PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 3) will return once more or how the movie's story will be tied into the grand scheme built up over the last four entries.

Stay tune for further updates. If PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 5 follows a schedule at all similar to PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 4, you can expect the movie to announce a lead actor or actress soon and the marketing campaign to commence around late spring of 2013.

They must be trying to overtake Saw for most unnecessary sequels.

What do you think? Does this franchise make it past 7?

I hope it's just a security camera focusing on the house cat, chilling inside with ghosts. I'd be up for that.

Considering how little money it costs to make these and how much they actually gain, I'd actually be surprised if it doesn't make it to 7.

This. As long as these are making such a huge profit, they'll continue to be made.

The last one, as average as it was, made 27 times its production costs. Don't expect these to die anytime soon. The first one is still amazing.

CarpetElf 11/23/12 10:15 AM

They make money so I can't blame them. But none of these movies have been anything but bad.

secretsociety92 11/23/12 12:44 PM

One of those cases of a cheap, shitty movie that makes a load of money. Don't care what anyone says these movies are not scary and nothing new.

Chris Collum 11/23/12 08:12 PM

The first one was pretty cool, but got dam that last one was bad

Goat01 11/24/12 10:31 AM

I'll continue to see these, I just think they're really fun.

Yarp, they've become like the Saw series...declined quality, but at this point its tradition to see them. Just some harmless Halloween fun.

part 4 was easily the worst one out of the bunch. nowhere to go but up.

do feel they exhausted the katie storyline, though.

The trailers looked so bad I couldn't bring myself to watch it. And I enjoyed the first three.

After reading this I am also hoping for a cat based sequel as well. Maybe a bird or an iguana as well to mix it up.

Paranormal Cativity.

I don't want this to exceed 7, but a lot of people I know were actually excited for the last one, and were up on all of them, which surprised me, so I think it may very well reach that number and then some.
