Forgot about this band. I loved their shit when I was 15.

Yontsey 11/24/12 06:19 PM

This bands still around?

SmeezyBeezy 11/24/12 06:21 PM

What's up 2006.

JuneJuly 11/24/12 06:31 PM

I swear I keep thinking these guys broke up.

drewinseries 11/24/12 06:31 PM

Let Your Body Take Over was a total rip off record, but was a guilty pleasure of mine. The clean singer had a great voice.

TheRealJohnOC 11/24/12 06:41 PM

I wonder what direction they'll go. Their last album was a complete bust.

SwertsOnALog 11/24/12 07:09 PM

Any word on if this is a "we're back", or just a last record?

NickMadeVisible 11/24/12 07:28 PM

No Kevin, no care.

iseejosh 11/24/12 08:55 PM

no fucking way! i hope they have a clean vocalist for this record. 'cake eater' is still the fucking jam.

You know, I did too, but I ran into their vocalist a year ago in Oregon since he was working for We Came As Romans, and he said that he was supposed to be recording the new record in March 2012...guess things got delayed.

EmoErk 11/24/12 10:06 PM

i remember them from 06 and something about a rap group

Capulet 11/24/12 10:19 PM

un fucking real !!!!!!

berniemac1234 11/24/12 10:22 PM

Kevin went to Day to Remember...Derek is Mod Sun. These guys have some good stuff nonetheless.

marsvoltamcr 11/24/12 10:39 PM

So awesome. A New Day was such an underrated album.

The departure of both of them ruined the bands dynamic in my opinion. Derek is an extremely good drummer, and is far more talented at that than his bullshit rap. And Kevin traded in his good guitar work and awesome clean vocals to play breakdowns. Such a waste, I still jam their second album here and there.

StepBackLetGo 11/25/12 12:35 AM

Completely agree ^ I really miss Kevin. Their EP was really the best - if nobody's heard it, they ought to. This band was awesome.

finally someone who thinks the same, it was undoubly their best album (though it lacked clean vocals) with the 2005 EP

GetUpAndrew 11/25/12 02:12 AM

The 16 years old in me is freaking out. I'll check this out.

mattplayscheap 11/25/12 05:49 AM

Miss Kevin being in this band. The worst thing they did was not replace him.

bobsheiskawy 11/25/12 08:05 AM

sometimes, i listen to this band's songs and think about how awesome they were.

Chuck! 11/25/12 11:12 AM

I haven't really been into them for years, but when I was it only What A Terrible Thing To Say, which was pretty good for its time. I never took the time to hear the first cd and the third, well that was a shitshow.

I get why many wouldn't be into them, and bands like FLL got shit on a lot when they were big because there was a big shift in music happening. But, with where the music scene has gone to now with bands like that Woe bullshit ruling teenagers minds, I credit these guys and a few others during the 04' to 09' period for at least knowing how to write music and play their instruments.

SuNDaYSTaR 11/25/12 01:00 PM

Well hello, 2005.

marsvoltamcr 11/25/12 01:01 PM

Yeah, I prefer the era when bands like this, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Alesana, Greeley Estates, and Sky Eats Airplane were amongst the big bands in the "scene". A lot of it still sounds fresh today, and I honestly can't see anyone saying the same about Woe Is Me or Make Me Famous five years down the road. But maybe I'm just passed the age of "getting it"

In the acknowledgements for their first two albums they're credited with writing so I feel like anything they come out with just wont be as good.

Aneurisms07 11/25/12 02:39 PM

What A Terrible Thing To Say was a good album.

If you're talking about the bro from My American Heart that doesn't count.

You do realize the one ADTR album Kevin has been featured on features a grand total of two songs with breakdowns, right? And that he actually sings some clean vocals on that same record? Okay, just checking.

prettyLUSH16 11/25/12 05:59 PM

I remember speaking to Mr. Nagan last year, this will most likely be the last 4LL album.

Alesana? I always felt they tried sooooooo fucking hard with their theatrical element and it got annoying.

Ha

Miketheunicycle 11/25/12 11:02 PM

stoked for this. i think a new day is highly underrated.
id be content if this is their last album, im just glad we're getting it. a new day was great, just not something i felt they should go out on. brian is the only member ive met from this band, and am glad that even though 4LL may not be full time anymore, he still cares enough to stick around in the scene.
eagerly anticipate the sounds of this record. i hope they find a good mix between their old sound and a new day. and who knows, if we get a stellar record maybe this will be their comeback.

not him (i wish) but judging by their recent live videos and pictures they're a five piece band again.

acousticore 11/26/12 09:51 AM

wondering what the band lineup even is anymore?
derek and kevin gone, last i heard john moved to brooklyn (?), louis hamel gone, tai wright plays bass for D.R.U.G.S. i think........
they replaced kevin with a friend of theirs, ant jones. but honestly i have no idea who's all gonna be playing on this record besides brian and connor.

I love the first two full lengths, but you've described everything they've made since then pretty perfectly.

You can hardly call the bridges in It's Complicated or You Be Tails "breakdowns," man haha. At least not even close to the traditional sense in metalcore, or what he's referring to I'm sure.
