Former QOTSA Bassist Working With The Band Again

Former Queens of The Stone Age bassist Nick Oliveri is working with the band again. Add that with the news that Dave Grohl is on board for the new album and things seem to be heading in a great direction.

This is quite awesome.

Unfortunately no one will care.

Fuck yes. Lets get Mark Lanegan back on board too.

whiterussian 11/28/12 11:46 AM

Weird. But it sounds like guest vocals, like those in Songs for the Deaf. Still, a surprise.

am i the only one not into this? sure, QOTSA's best stuff was with Oliveri in the band, but the dude was initially kicked out because he beat his girlfriend. which wouldn't be a big deal if he had somehow changed, but the dude was in an armed stand off with the cops less than a year ago.

I was just about to type this. Some of the best songs on "Songs For The Deaf" are with him on vocals. And Rated R for that matter.

Haha. Wow. Funny to see that kind of a double standard here. Dude beat his wife, but it's cool that he's back, but Chris Brown beat Rihanna and now he's one of this site's biggest targets. I hate Chris Brown too, but for fuck's sake, have some consistency in your views. Also, I seriously prefer everything after SFTD (and Rated R), so the news of Grohl and Oliveri being back are cool, but I guess I'm not as stoked as everyone else.

This guy is a fuck.

Only came here to point this out.

This band's line up really is a revolving door...

Pretty sure he holed himself up in his apartment with a bunch of assault rifles, not cool.

crutchfield 11/28/12 12:35 PM

FUUUUUCK YES!!!!

O'brotherfan47 11/28/12 12:36 PM

This is amazing!! I hope Mark Lanegan works with them again!!

mka12992 11/28/12 12:42 PM

Then again, John Lennon apparently used to beat the shit out of his first wife on a regular basis, and he's revered... So I guess if you want to beat your girl, you better make some good ass music.
