I did post about it earlier haha. It's an old HP Pavilion that I bought used for really cheap. Just installed more RAM and it's been trusty ever since. But if people have high RAM and their iTunes is STILL slow...then I have no clue.

just updated
there's a ton of songs that were added to my library and i have no idea where they came from...

and a lot of songs have duplicates now

edit: seems to have put songs into my library that i purchased years ago from itunes, but there were still a lot of songs where i have no idea where they came from, like Taylor Swift for example lol

So far so good. It runs great on windows and I like the new design but had to do some minor adjustments to get the look and feel right.

Exactly. The gutted the service for the tech destroying the cool parts (like online only songs for 10 cents) and used it in some marginally useful feature. (My music library is fairly cleanly organized. Its not that hard to upload the whole thing to Amazon or Skydrive or Google)

If Apple wanted an on demand subscription service I think they could have one. Its just not a priority for them because it won't make as much money and if they were to acquire something like Rdio I fear it probably just become more expensive.

on which tab? artist? album? actually it might be the same for all tabs. go to the menu in the top left corner, drop down to "show menu bar" then go to "view" and "view options"

Maybe I don't do as much music exploration as you do (well I'm sure I don't since my paying job is entirely non music related) but for me I can't fathom having to rely on a cellular connection in order to stream a song. I don't know about the artists and albums column at the start there, but to bring the sidebar back is Ctrl+S. Oh, and the layout is under the 'Songs' option

Thanks, but the problem is that I can only have the columns ABOVE the songs, which in my case is very annoying. Apparently they left the "above" option but took out the "to the left" one.

Hopefully they put it back in but apple has a history of leaving people behind, so.

Really digging this update. As a Windows 7 user, I'm finding it waaaaaay peppier than 10.7. No more freezing/lagging while I scroll. It's also a lot nicer to look at IMO. Only thing I miss is having the album artwork in the bottom left hand corner when in the Songs view.

I just downloaded it today and songs that I had downloaded when I was like 13 and then deleted had "magically" gotten back into my library. Other than that, I am diggin it!

I switched to T-Mobile because I can get unlimited talk/text/web for $50 a month on a smartphone. Verizon doesn't have anything matching that - the cheapest plan for a prepaid smartphone is $80 a month. Too much for me :-(

I really can't stand this new design. I need my column browsers to the left back and to not see these little boxes by each artist in the one column that is left. It's way too clunky - anyone know how to change that?
