Rise Records has become a joke.

So according to that blog they have only been a "band" for 5 days. What is this label thinking?

Is this shit serious? Like seriously? Am I crazy?

That an old vocalist will produce a decent band.

I'd assume this guy has ties to the label, because his project sucks. I like AA! though.

They've always been a joke, except for when they had Fear Before and Small Towns back in the day.

For all who might not be aware of this... When you sign a record deal a lot goes into the contract. Most times in a contract there are stipulations where due to contact Rise gets first dibs on the previous artists new band. I, for one, am quite happy. Austin is a VERY talented person and a great friend of mine. I can't wait to see where this goes for him!

the only reason attack attack is so big right now is because of austins screams on the cd. Half of attack attacks fans do not no that austin isnt in the band anymore. Fans are going to attack attacks shows and seeing their new fat screamer and thinking that it is the same person who screams on the record

so this is a huge wake up call to everyone

Yeah, they were one of the bands I was thinking about. I also enjoy the Emarosa album and Dance Gavin Dance Downtown Battle Mountain. DGD has really really fallen off.


I feel sorry for you and your preference in music if you think this is good.

Yeah, but this doesn't explain why Rise actually picked up on their option, especially:
A. Within a week after the band began.
B. For a band with a former vocalist of Attack Attack!

I hate when bands use obvious references as their band names. Usually they make that name have a negative connotation.

Of Machiness is obviously in this band.

why wouldn't Rise sign Austin? His old bad has sold over 12 THOUSAND RECORDS. Great news for Rise!

I actually think Rise Records is one of my favorite labels for two simple reasons:

The Years Gone By and Breathe Carolina who both dominated my car/laptop/CD player......

I suppose I tend to view it in terms of his old band being annoying and not being able to write a song in a key that isn't C# minor, but I can understand this point of view.

I'm in no way defending that but i was just voicing the business side of why he signed with Rise.

It is probably a contract obligation....but honestly.....they aren't very good.

It's the same exact stuff that happened with Jonny Craig when he was dumped from DGD and couldn't joing A Skylit Drive and was forced to join a band that was already on the Rise roster or form a new band on Rise forcing him to join Emarosa.
