egonsmith 02/26/09 06:20 AM

i would've put:

Thrice - Illusion of Safety
Strongarm - Advent of a Miracle

stuntmaniac 02/26/09 08:24 AM

Wheres Brand New - Deja Entendu lol

SJPrice99 02/26/09 09:24 AM

without Green Day - Dookie, it is very doubtful any of these albums would exist (minus the clash of course, cuz without them there would be no green day)

If there wasn't at least one Promise Ring album I wasn't going to come to this site anymore.

Good list, guys.

a lot of great records on this list.
here is my list...sorry if some of them are kinda old school. but i am old as fuck, and these cd's got me through some long cold drives in a shitty conversion van.

saves the day-through being cool
a new found glory-nothing gold can stay
mineral-the power of failing
green day-dookie
jimmy eat world-clarity
snapcase-progression through unlearning
punchline-action
taking back sunday-tell all your friends
dashboard confessional-swiss army romance
from autumn to ashes-so sorry you're beautiful

stay posi
jt

haha, maybe we're both old as fuck, but about half your albums are my all-time favs.

Dookie was my first cd I think ever. I'm really surpirsed the Saves the Day, New Found Glory, or Taking Back Sunday albums you mentioned weren't on here. I think Alkaline Trio's Goddammit would've fit nice and snug with all of those, too. All your picks are literally taken out of my CD case via freshman/sophomore year of high school. Mad props, bro.

Refused's Shape of Punk to Come?... great list though.

Radiology 02/26/09 05:36 PM

Mineral "End Serenading" or "Power of Failing"

Absolutely agree.

The Clash's London Calling is just an album I cannot get into. I've tried listening to it many times, but just get bored with it for some reason. I appreciate the album for what it did for this "scene", but it just is not my cup of tea.

I realize most of these have been suggested, but aside from Clarity I would personally add The Get Up Kids' Something to Write Home About, Jawbreaker's Dear You, The Ataris' Blue Skies, Broken Hearts...Next 12 Exits, Fugazi's Repeater, Pennywise's Unknown Road, NOFX's Punk In Drublic, American Football's Self-Titled and Refused's The Shape of Punk To Come ... among others.
