They've been opening for Dr. Dog for the past four days or so. (My girlfriend saw them this Saturday and said they were amazing, as to be expected.)

Downloading this after seeing the rec in the Kendrick thread. I'd been meaning to listen, but that put me over the edge.

This is the one album that I return to the most. Almost all their stuff is great, but I just absolutely love the atmosphere of this album.

Actually, the Vol. 2 stuff hasn't grabbed me the same way Vol. 1 did. I haven't gone back to the new songs that much. It's probably just the wealth of incredible music that's been put out in the past...

I really like "Sugar Boats," so it's strange to see it pointed to so much in reviews as a low point of the album.

Updated. By Night in Chile was probably one of the best books I've ever read. The rest were also pretty great.

Sorry for not responding to this! My service at T29 is horrible. I also didn't have any opportunity at all to even move around: we were at the front and just totally surrounded by people.

Good show...

Really like the few times James Mercer pops up on this one. He was one of my favorite parts of We Were Dead; I'm glad they brought him back.

Haha, "Be Brave" is easily my least favorite on here. It's good, but it just hasn't clicked for me.

Favorites: "The Ground Walks," "Pups to Dust," "Sugar Boats," and the opener.

"John My Beloved," "Fourth of July," and "The Only Thing" are the stand-outs for me on first listen, but the whole album is incredible. Today's been awesome, what with this and Modest Mouse.

Ha, yeah, I am totally headed to Target in a bit. Agreed with everyone else re: the release date; it seems like the delay was unnecessary. Maybe there were behind-the-scenes stuff being worked out,...

Because I'd rather not listen to the songs outside the context of the album. That's my usual policy, really. I've listened to "Lampshades on Fire" but that's it!

Woah, I totally forgot about these guys. Really liked the last one, as I remember. I'll have to check this out.

Every bit as good as I expected. I think it may be a little too long (thought the same of Ripely Pine), but it's hard to complain when each song is so good.

Finally.

New song isn't too much of a surprise, given the stuff he did with Silkken Laumann. Hoping this will be better though.

Yeah, I saw Nils Frahm last year, and it was amazing. I know he doesn't play much in the U.S., but he is definitely worth seeing if you have the chance.

Seeing Max Richter later this month too,...

Yeah, it reminds me of "Revelation Blues" (which I always preferred the acoustic, live version of more than the studio one).

Harold Budd was a recent discovery for me, but I've been listening to his stuff a lot lately, especially since I might be seeing him play in about a month. I hadn't heard of the album with Andy...
