Agreed. Pretty cool and I'd be interested to see if the average donation is higher than what the average ticket price would have been had these free shows been paid.

Exactly! It's not abnormal for an artist or tour package to have better markets and worse markets.

This whole tour feels like it's in too large of rooms though. What was the last SWS tour playing?...

That's in the UK where they have historically have had a large live draw.

Like I said, they're big in some markets, not big in others.

They don't sell out 10 - 20,000 seat amphitheaters, though.

Some markets they do 3 - 5k in large halls or clubs. Some markets (Florida, where they don't have market history) they do far less.

Is this tour even big enough for these rooms? Or will it end up being amphitheaters with some sections "curtained off" if not even tix sell?

Huh? That logic doesn't quite work here.

As an artist gets more popular, and moves up from small clubs to theaters, and especially into large halls, amphitheaters, and arenas, they usually will...

No one is saying they have 'boat loads' of cash (which, what does that even mean for an amount?), but:

- They just moved almost 200,000 units of their latest album. Not money you'd want to put into...

They can absolutely afford touring musicians at this point. I can only guess it's an artistic or performance choice, not a money one.

Will not happen, no. They have 0 mainstream appeal.

They simply don't have any traction in the mainstream for a radio hit to happen.

Disagree.

FOB has huge mainstream support, and huge radio support. This song is catchy, but likely won't break them into the mainstream like FOB. Maybe a little bit of play on some smaller-market...

The verse is great and builds a lot of energy, but that chorus feels like it falls flat.

The amount of tracks used is out of control.

Maybe if Joe played the horn line it would have been more interesting, but it came across as basically karaoke, not a cover.

Those high closed vowel 'e's are definitely hard to hit live.

Also, seems like they've really embraced live tracks I hear tons of electronic drums, some swooshes, and lots of doubled lead vocals,...

Walk the Moon has been getting really good traction, especially in the college market. They might be too late on riding the buzz from their previous single, but I'd still consider this very close to...

Not really surprising - people wanted the single but didn't really care about the album.

Yeah, I'm not disputing that. You made it seem like it takes two years to complete the work needed to release an album, which isn't always true. Artists sometimes hold on to a finished record for...

It doesn't have to actually take two years to do the work. A two-year album cycle is just a common industry timeline.

Quality videos are often very expensive to make (though not always) for often very little return on investment these days. Hence the rise of the lyric video, which can be made by almost anyone for an...

That single went 3x Platinum in the US alone as of April 2011. It went 2x platinum within a month of being released in 09.
