I never posted in here (sorry), but this is one of my favorite albums this year. Really love it, and I think I'll be coming back to it a lot more in the fall.

Cope made me appreciate Simple Math a lot more, actually. I think it's pretty great, and I love the last few tracks in particular. It has the most variety of any of their albums, which is probably...

Well, that was an informative post. Thanks for that. It's really interesting to hear about Part 2 actually existing. I wonder how that'll work out.

Wasn't there some announcement a few months back that they were planning on releasing Blackhole though? That's one I'd love to hear, even if we don't get the whole 20:20 box set.

It took a while, but I eventually got all of the single stuff. All of it is good, excepting the joke songs, and some of it is great: "Jacksonville," "How Much Light," "I Do Not Feel Like Being Good,"...

The guy's personality definitely rubs me the wrong way, if his online presence and the live show is anything to go off of. I saw him/the band play a show a little over a year ago at a local college,...

The Beast in Its Tracks just never connected with me the way the three previous albums did. I too am happy to hear a return (somewhat) to the Conquests feel. The lyrics are great too (as expected).

Seeing them play "Death" at Shakey Knees was one of the best things I've seen all year. Incredible band/album/show.

Damn, I knew two releases in a year was too good to be true.

Well, you all convinced at least this guy to give McMurtry a try. Just downloaded the new one; I'll listen tomorrow.

Seems to me "In A Sweater, Poorly Knit" is the quintessential mewithoutYou song. Not sure I could leave that off a mix for someone, even if I thought it wasn't the best song on that album.

I'm not the biggest fan of the venue they're playing in Atlanta (although it's the best of the small club options, I'd say), but I doubt I'm gonna get the chance to see them in a 300-capacity venue...

A 7.2 on Pitchfork for a band like this is pretty awesome, I think. I wasn't expecting it (the score and for it to be to reviewed at all), really.

Yeah, a show ending at 11 is the best. I don't care so much about the weekends, but it's hard to get up and get to work at 7 when I was at a show until 12:00 or 12:30. I know what I'm in for, and I...

Updated. Sheer Rage, Brief History, and Girl were all awesome, although the last one was easily the best of the lot. I'm planning on - slowly - making my way through Ali Smith's bibliography...

I thought it was pretty good, if a little . . . I don't know . . . simple? I probably need to listen with better headphones though and with adjusted expectations. Very pretty, regardless. I liked...
