Can someone make a list of how many times Tom's used "dancing" imagery across his whole career?

Tom, for better or for worse, under his own admittance, (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fscRgO3rJi8) has a tendency to recycle or overuse the same musical tropes again and again. While most...

Couple of questions:

1) Does the turntable/sample guy do anything? I kind of feel bad for him.

2) Is one of their guitarists playing with a Jazzmaster? WTF? It might the first time I've ever seen...

Did Pitchfork EVER even review one of his records? I know they have a tendency to delete old reviews, but it seems strange that they would get off their high horse for this.

Wow. They nailed those harmonies. Did it actually sound this good live?

It's not just the LP, it also comes with 3 7" records for the bonus tracks. $50 sounds about right to me.

That was great!

Honestly, the real show-stealer is not the vocalist (though they do a decent job), but the electric-guitar player. Johnny Marr's style is anything but easy to emulate, both in terms...

Yeah, that was rough.

In fairness, I have a really hard time singing Saves the Day jams, especially the older stuff.

This song is definitely not what I was hoping for after all these years. As much as I appreciate some levity, the song doesn't seem as inspired or as manic as their other jams. (Granted, I did read...

Yeah, that really pissed me off too! How would she feel if I popped on my copy of Reinventing Axel Rose on a record player that one can buy at Walgreens?

I miss Jerry Finn pushing these guys to make songs that don't sound half-assed. He used to be the one to say "hey, thats a clunky lyric" or "this line could use some harmonies." Without him, Blink...

Its really refreshing to read a piece like this. Whenever I find myself frustrated that a band seems to ignore a certain part of their discography (kind of a selfish, counter-artistic sentiment I...

Mark Trombino would do a great job. The production elements of Dude Ranch, namely all of the background "ooh's" and "ahhs," do a great job of giving their sound some polish without the need for all...

I knew this album would be a letdown, but not to the extent that it is.

I give them props for trying something new, but the magic is certainly gone.

Does anyone else feel like this song is totally soulless? I know that digital recording can make any band seem a bit too polished, but something about the vocals and guitars in this song feels...

The acoustic show they mentioned in the interview was one of the best shows I've been to in recent memory. Its incredible how much their songs shine when stripped of the blast-beat drums.

I love...

Kind of Like Spitting, especially their full-band material, is so under-appreciated. I hope they make it out to the east coast!

I like it. It's definitely in line with the more straight-forward nature of their last few albums, but it feels more genuine. I'm guessing these jams are going to be incredible live!
