| Vinyl Record Sales Rise Over 1 Million Units, Nearly... | | Soundscan is reporting vinyl record sales of 3.9 million units over the course of 2011, which is a 39.3 percent gain of the 2010 numbers (2.8 million). In the replies you can see a graphic of what the growth of vinyl record sales looks like in bar graph form. I wrote about this topic last year, and a gain of 1 million units over the last year is amazing. Have you started buying vinyl yet? |

09:32 AM on 01/05/12 | http://tinyurl.com/raichuraichu I think I bought more vinyl in 2010, but already ordered one for 2012. It makes sense, people would rather go digital than physical, but if they are buying a thing why not get the biggest available for pretty much the same price?

09:35 AM on 01/05/12 | That's great. I feel like vinyl making a comeback would make the culture surrounding music a lot cooler. "hey, man, the wonder years released a 7 inch last week, did ya hear?" "Yeah, man, but I bought AFI's complete discography the other day so I'll have to sleep on that." It seems like a more interesting conversation to have rather than "Yeah, i downloaded some songs the other day."
