That's what I figured... I was born in Jersey, and lived there for a while, but I also lived in CT, so first and foremost, for some reason I'm a Pats fan... Well, because Tom Brady is a beast, but everyone I know in Jersey is a Giants fan. I always associated Jets with Jersey... Maybe it was the alliteration, (allusion?) I dunno...

Ughhh. Let me throw some facts out there for you guys.

The Giants have been around since the 1920s.
The Jets have been around since the 1960s.

I am a Giants fan because my Dad is a Giants fan. Most of my friends' sports allegiances are passed down through family members, friends, friends' families, etc. The Giants being around longer leads to their larger fan base. Nobody's Grandfather was a Jets fan in the 40s. They didn't exist.

The Giants first "home" stadium was the Polo Grounds, in NEW YORK.
The Jets first "home" stadium, albeit ~35 years later, also the Polo Grounds, in NEW YORK.

After their stint at the Polo Grounds, the Giants played for almost 20 years at Yankee Stadium. Thus, the Yankees/Giants fan allegiance.
After their stint at the Polo Grounds, the Jets played for almost 20 years at Shea Stadium. Thus, the Mets/Jets fan allegiance.

Hopefully that cleared up most of the idiocy in this thread.

In my opinion, it absolutely is. You watch your team compete every year in hopes of winning a championship, not having a perfect season. Never in my life would I trade more than one championship for a perfect season. The thought alone makes me laugh and sounds completely absurd.
