Death By Stereo Sign to Viking Funeral

Posted by - 04:14 PM on 02/02/12
Death By Stereo have have signed with Viking Funeral Records. The band's sixth full-length album, Black Sheep of the American Dream, is set for a spring release.
StatementI am personally proud to be a part of Viking Funeral because Fletcher, Ken Seaton and the whole Suburban Noize family have the same DIY, never back down mentality that we have. Viking Funeral is a perfect home for us, as we’ve seen how labels work and the majority of them are more interested in making a quick buck instead of developing an artist that puts out great records. Working with Viking Funeral brings us back to our early days in the hardcore and punk-rock scenes that birthed us, because they care about the music rather than what’s trendy. This record is a return to our roots and with the addition of our original bass player Paul Miner as producer we have re-established our signature sound and we managed to forge a new sonic path for Death by Stereo. Every individual in the band is excited to continue to shed light on the issues affecting our world and we plan to storm the globe with this record!

I would say that given their last album, Suburban Noize seems like a good fit, but then there's this "we're going back to our roots" claim, so who knows.

Wasn't too keen on Death for Life, but I'll give this a spin. I really wish they would play a date on the east coast already.

They are banned from warped tour unfortunately. One of the old members got in a fight with lyman's crew and were kicked off forever. If they were on warped they would smoke half the bands out there and be way bigger than they are now.

Kevin Lyman sucks.

I know it sucks, but some of the best bands are doomed to legitimacy, which is ultimately a better fate.
