Sorry if there was already a thread like this that I didn't see. I feel like this is a pretty relevant post for a music based website. Please play nice. It's a pretty sensitive issue. I'm in need of some advice... I've got a boyfriend, who is in a band, and he's gone A LOT. He's a great person and totally loyal, we've been together since wayy before the band-- but, he keeps getting hit on by girls on all his social networks because he lists himself as single even though we've been together for years. It happens TONS, and I can only see part of it. He doesn't exactly flirt back (anywhere I can see) but he's pretty damn friendly and I'm never mentioned. I get that he has to be nice to girls to promote his band, but is this a little too friendly? So every once in awhile I get pissed off at these girls who are all over him, but I kind of take it out on him. I think he should let people know he's had a girlfriend for years. It might not change how the slutty girls act, but at least it would show he was trying. How does one deal with all this knowing that if the tables were turned, he'd lose his mind about it?

Point taken. I don't want him to delete them, but I don't think wanting him to say he's in a relationship on them is asking too much. Especially since before the band he did just that.

wait..does he have himself listed as being in a relationship on his facebook? I mean you can't on like twitter and that unless he puts it in his description text ( which should be reserved for band info ) but if he has his relationship status hidden on facebook, or is listed as single, that's shady as fuck and you have a point. You cannot, however, expect him to go through every post and say he's in a relationship.

No, it says single on his Facebook. I don't expect him to say "i love my girlfriend" on every post on his Twitter, but if a girl asks him, I would expect him to answer yes and not just change the subject.

People who are in a relationship and don't list as such on facebook are shady as fuck and you have a legitimate gripe here. I could see if you only recently started dating but it seems to have been awhile. Fuck him. Call him out.

It's been about 3 1/2 years. And I've been pretty understanding for about 3 of them, but it's gotten kind of old. Buuuuut I'd feel like a total fucking crazy bitch to break up with him over a social network. It seems like it shouldn't be a big deal but it is to me.
