Can someone fill me in. What's the story behind this guy?
Asian American Harvard graduate, undrafted and signed by Golden State last year, NY Knicks picked him up this year. He got to start last week because of injuries and he has been playing the best basketball anyone has seen in NY for a long time. He hit a 3 pointer to win last night with half a second left, he scored 38 against Kobe and the Lakers, he hit a free throw the other night to seal the victory against minnesota. MSG stock is at an all time high, his jersey is selling like wildfire. Just a really good story

Is of Asian descent. Is not Yao Ming. Has helped the Knicks go on a nice little win streak. Has scored the most points in his first 6 NBA starts since the ABA/NBA merger. Is covered nonstop by ESPN.

NONSTOP is correct. I was excited to see coverage of the Red Wings 21st straight home victory, yet I was inundated with 45 straight minutes of LINSANITY!!!"
Cool nice little story indeed. I did see that he got the winning basket last night but I don't follow the NBA that much so I didn't know what all the fuss was about. Good for him.
I'm on the bandwagon for sure, with the caveat that he's got to prove it over time. I'm not just talking about the rest of the month of February, I mean over the rest of the season. With Melo and Amare back you'd expect to see his scoring go down and his assists go up, but I'm not wholly convinced that will happen.
People also have to realize that along with all those points, he has the most turnovers in five starts since the ABA/NBA merger and he hasn't really going against quality defenders either.
Who cares? First of all, he had his best game against the Lakers. Second of all, its not like he's going to start playing like shit once he starts playing teams above .500. Who on the Heat guards him? Chalmers? No. Even if he has trouble against Rose, Westbrook, and Rondo, it really doesn't matter. He's basically a rookie, and he's doing what he is supposed to do: he is playing well against, and beating the teams he is supposed to be beating.
The real test will be when Carmelo comes back. No way he can keep the pace he's at with Carmelo dominating the ball. Will they be able to co-exist? Carmelo is probably the toughest player to play alongside in the league (he doesn't create for anyone, and he's not that good off the ball). D'Antoni would be wise to stop allowing Carmelo to play point-forward, and have him play more of a traditional 3.
Compared to Tebow who is an awful quarterback and a total dickhead of a human being, the media coverage surrounding this guy is actually a breath of fresh air

LOL i did see quickly on TV at the gym today "the world of sports" as of 11/3/11 which was the beginning of their win streak. At the time Jeremy Lin was playing for Golden State, the NY Giants were going against the Patriots in week 9 that weekend, and two other things they mentioned I can't remember
