Bon Iver was on last week an sounded incredible. There are a lot of bands that sound great on SNL or other tv shows, and they're always the ones that have an awesome understanding of their gear and total control of their sounds. Unfortunately too many bands are just bad sounding live bands because they don't have their shit together like they should.

All of those cabinets for that tone? Don't get it.

Performance of "Comeback Kid" sounded fine to me--actually enjoyed it. Vocals were hard to understand on "End of the Line," though. That being said, an actual Sleigh Bells' show is the complete opposite of these performances. Such high energy. Obviously it's a bit difficult to translate that to the SNL stage when you don't have hundreds of kids right up there with you to feed off of. I've always imagined playing on that stage has to feel like playing at your high school's auditorium for a talent show.

uhhhhh. and "the snl stage makes everyone sound bad" is no excuse. there have been spectacular performances on that stage.
