The clean vocals in this track are absolutely killer. Soto grew tremendously as a vocalist, and the band is better at setting him up now. That chorus is perfectly constructed. Seems like the band wrote with a vocalist in mind this time, rather than just having vox on top.

Spencer has always been the most disputed part of Periphery. He was really hit or miss for me on the last record, though I imagine writing vocal melodies to those older songs was a nightmare structurally. But on this song, I think he sounds great.

Regarding the drums, I'd wait to hear a SoundCloud stream for forming an opinion. YouTube butchers stuff like this.

his clean vocals don't fit at all if you ask me, and i think his screaming is ok but he lacks power

and the drums are certainly sound replaced, it's not youtube

Meh. I really enjoy his cleans here, and think he fits. His screams have always been really airy though, which I don't necessarily enjoy either.

That's an old Haunted Shores song, pretty amazing nonetheless.

I think it used to be a song Misha Mansoor wrote for his other project Haunted Shores with Spencer from Periphery on vocals. Seems they've decided to release it under the name Periphery. It was on Haunted Shore's bandcamp since last Feb.

Nice find! That mix sounds much better too.

I love Spencer's vocals on their recordings, but he's been awful in every live performance I've seen.

I like this song, not in love with it though. Still, I'm beyond thrilled that this record is probably nearing its release.

Kinda disappointed this isn't a Haunted Shores song anymore, but whatever. It's still a great song.

I wonder if this was with their new bassist...
