it really depends on the band playing but usually either front row or in the pit.

I selected "No Preference" simply because, and I know this is a terrible cop out answer, it really depends on the show. When I saw Dave Hause and Dan Andriano play an acoustic show I just chilled in the back because it was a good visual spot and made for a good atmosphere; but when I saw The Lawrence Arms I was up in the pit (right next to Tim from Elway!(who also played at that Hause/Andriano show)) and as close as I could get because, well, it's the fucking Lawrence Arms.

So it's all relative to the show I'm at and the people I'm with and the crowd.

Front right/left unless it's a small crowd then front and center.

Mostly toward the side because front center are so hard to get to. My goal is just to get as close to the front as possible but still maintain a good view of the stage. The one place that I absolutely hate is upstairs/balcony section because it's so far from where all the actions are

If it's an intimate show, front and center. If it's a band that I want to try to sing into the mic during, front. If the people around me look like they are going to climb all over me and knock my glasses off, the side. If I'd rather see the performance from afar with my friends and drink some beer, I prefer a balcony.

Depends what kind of band. For intimate pop punk shows, it's all about the energy and I like to be up front. But for shows with bigger production in a larger venue, I like to be toward the back where I can actually watch the band perform, and see all the lighting effects and the crowd in front of me.

i hate when i'm in the front and i can't go anywhere. for example, i went to see senses fail with some friends and there was this short 'scene' i guess you would have called it girl standing next to me reppin' a bunch of hello kitty shit. she smelled like straight bubble gum, i couldn't take it anymore - place was so packed i couldn't even get out.
