The sad part is a solid chunk of the audience that probably saw that live...was probably sitting there going "Yeah rick! You tell em!'

I'm not familiar with Chris Wallace, but he seems pretty stand up in this clip. What don't you like about him?

I have a theory about Santorum and his supporters. Will post later.

Watching Colbert quote him from 2008... apparently he declares that Satan has no other targets besides the United States due to its awesomeness?

lol santorum leading in michigan and nationally over romney. wouldn't it be hilarious if he was the nominee?

it would be hilarious yet scary. he brings so much hate with him. i have a weird feeling he is going to be the nominee. i dont like that at all. he really needs to understand the separation of church and state

His nomination would spell victory for Obama...and it would also continue the growing rift in the Republican party, which I am all for.

Santorum's nomination (and subsequent words he'd speak) would be the death-throws of the current Republican party. The average American doesn't understand/know the horrible things the fringe side of the Republican party/Tea Party stands for, but Santorum would put it out there in all it's horrendous glory.

So the general consensus now is that an unchecked, one-party congress is a good thing?

DISCLAIMER/EDIT: I think Santorum is a deplorable person who seeks to force his moral code upon others due to his belief system, and I really, really, don't like the extreme right/Christian wing of Congress.

I think the general consensus is that an unchecked Democratic congress would do far less damage then an unchecked Republican congress would. Dems generally question themselves and are generally more moderate as a group (See: Health care debate in 2009)....the GOP often gets unified and listens to the looney base way more often then it should.

Even so, a split in the GOP wouldn't guarentee unchecked congress for the Dems. The Tea Partiers would still vote in their Tea Party guys, and the "Moderate GOP", whatever the non-Tea Party GOP's would call their new Political party, would still win their fiscal conservative districts. And Republican states like Texas would still send Conservative candidates to the Senate...no way a Dem wins there even with a split vote. It's the presidency that a GOP split would make tough for a conservative to win.
