The police are totally making a victim out of Zimmerman, talking about how he had to move away because of hate mail and death threats. Then this:

Wtf? How about the glaring difference between "yes, officer, I'm chasing him" and "I never got out of the van nor confronted the kid in any way"? This whole thing is bullshit.

I heard about this this morning.
From what I heard on Zimmerman's call, he said that the person was acting suspicious, had a hand in a waistband, and was looking at homes nearby -- in a neighborhood where there had been a string of breakins. So the original call might have been correct. (And the only time he mentioned Martin's race was in the description.)
The other part they said is that there is a law in Florida which states that one doesn't have to back down from a threat and, if it is self defense, response could include deadly force. I need to do some more research on this law, but that might be why he's not arrested yet?
I feel horrible for Martin and his family.
And if my information is incorrect, please tell me. I heard it on NPR this morning but wasn't paying a lot of attention.

This is so frustrating and horrible, I don't even understand how police have put off arresting him. You can hear Trayvon yelling for help in one of the 911 calls, that's really chilling.
