So torn about this steelers draft. Decastro is amazing value, like the lb in the 3rd, and ta'amu is gonna be our starting by Ina year or two. But mile Adams was the player I wanted least. And a rb in the 5th is a waste. And no cb hurts too. We need to do well in undrsfted fa to fill the secondary and ILB gaps.
Decastro and ta'amu make me happy overall |
the draft was fucking fantastic.
decastro will be as good as faneca was. we couldnt pass on adams where we got him. theyre both probably starting week one. adamsay have to wait til week two after colon gets hurt and put on ir, but we got two probable starters in the first two rounds.
spence is a freak that can play outside of harrison or woodley get hurt, and can be groomed to start next to timmons by next season. and like you said, the fourth rounder will be a starter in the next season or two.
rainey was a weird pick, but worth the risk value wise. hes dynamic and explosive and can open up some creativity offensively. granted, we already have five rbs worth keeping, but that just means hell have to earn his roster spot.
seventh round didnt make a ton of sense. theyre mostly competition picks, and if they make the roster theyll have earned it. if not, theyll have pushed whoever does earn it. sixth wr, tackle, corner, and third tight end could all use a little competition.
corner isnt as big a need as people make it out to be. im happier with them making the picks they made than if theyd have grabbed a corner they werent sold on for the sake of grabbing a corner. the young guys need to step up. madison is ready, and brown could possibly be the starting number two this season. and there are a few others behind them that have shown promise.
im very happy with how the draft went.
