I think Glover's voice would be perfect for Donatello.
That's an interesting thought, and I definitely agree.

The release date wasn't pushed indefinitely. Production will just be suspended indefinitely until they get everything back on track with the script. The new release date is May 16, 2014. Incredibly dumb move though. While I think the Christmas release date was also dumb, it is now sandwiched between The Amazing Spider-Man's sequel and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Not too mention, it will be released on the same date as Marvel's mystery movie. They would be better served giving this a late July/early August release where it's still summer, yet most of the blockbusters have had their run.

Regardless, the primary issue is reportedly the script and they are slashing the budget by $10-20 million to $125 million. Both terrible signs for this movie...

So the rejected script leaked. It's awful. Like, really awful. I'm looking for a download, but here's some tidbits:
•They aren't really aliens, they're "interdimensional beings" – Yes, Crystal Skull style.
•This does not stop them from insisting that they mutated due to a chemical spill anyways. Confusing much?
•The dimension they're from? Dimension X (Yes, Krang's dimension.)
•They're the "chosen ones" of their interdimension alien turtle race
•Casey Jones is the Sam Witwicky of the movie. He and April are 18-year-old high school sweethearts that graduate and move to New York when she gets an internship at CBS. He is an amateur hockey player, but takes up a job as a security guard at a furniture factory.
•He is the one that insists that they wear different colored bandanas because they all look the same to him after he discovers them while working.
•Shredder is not in the movie. Oh wait, yes he is... kinda. Fear Colonel Schrader (welp.), leader of the Foot Clan.
•Bebop and Rocksteady ARE in the movie and are described as faithul adaptations. Ditto for Krang, though he only has two lines of dialogue.

As for dialogue, here's some excerpts:
Raphael: "Kung fu? What do we look like, cartoon panda bears? We're trained in Ninjitsu. And we don't just know it, we serve it for dinner..."

Raphael: "That damn frog was right. It ain't easy being green."

*end of movie*
"You're never as alone as you think you are."
(cue Linkin Park... Okay, kidding, but might as well expect it)

Comicbookmovie has a full rundown of the entire plot...

For those questioning, the original blog post that featured all the details was taken down due to a cease and desist letter that the author posted already.

Peter Laird on the leaked script.

Quote:
I think the script that I read is so fundamentally flawed, and — more to the point — so NOT a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, that trying to make piecemeal changes to it in an effort to make it into something halfway decent is probably a fool’s errand.

In my opinion, the thing should just be tossed out, deliberately forgotten, and the process of generating a new script really a new outline, then treatment, then script — should be started again. I have no insider knowledge of what’s going on with the movie, but from the bits and pieces that have slipped out, it seems like that may be exactly what is happening.

While we’re on the subject of this script… I have to say that while reading it, and especially reading the last twenty pages or so, I couldn’t help but think of the brouhaha which erupted a few months back when Michael Bay was heard to say that in the upcoming movie, the Turtles would be revealed to be “from an alien race”, and following that, all the mental gymnastics indulged in by people who wanted to parse his words and make it seem like “No, he didn’t REALLY say they were going to be ALIENS!”… and then this script makes it way out onto the Internet, and if it is legitimate, it’s painfully clear that YES, the Turtles WERE, in fact, going to be ALIENS.

Quote:
"I think all true TMNT fans should be grateful to the new "powers that be" that they did not allow this wretched thing to go any further. It could definitely be taken as a good sign if that is the case."
