ok so i know all of you people posted these comments forever ago but that picture used as an example is me!

for all of you that say they are totally a bad idea are very misinformed. i had my surface piercings in for years before i took them out. done properly by an experienced piercer and taken care of well these piercings have a chance of doing very well. i reccommend john joyce at scarab in syracuse ny for anyone in the area.

for those of you that say theyre ugly or whats the point, whats the point of any piercing? and everyone has their own opinions on what looks good and what doesnt i guess, but who cares?
to the comment about only sluts who have their shirts off all the time would get these or something like that: not true. im not sure about you, but i get piercings and tattoos for myself. not specifically to show off to other people.

In my opinion, piercings and tattoos are for being who you are and who you want to be. They are what sets you apart from everyone else. Sure tattoos are also great for memories and comemorating people and things, but piercings are for being unique in most instances. So if you dont get the piercing only because you think that people will make fun of you, then you never truely wanted to do it for yourself so dont do it. On the other hand, if you know that people will laugh at you, and you STILL want to do it, I'm all for it. That means that you want to do this for yourself and not to get approval from others. :) hope this helps.

I've had both my hips peirced at one stage or another in my life. Dumbest idea. Stupidest piercing. also on one side there was a dirty big gross scar for like 5 years - it's only just starting to grow out.

Surface piercings are a good idea for about as long as it takes to get a good photo of it, then it should be taken out. Your body eventually rejects it. It's not meant to be something you have pierced indefinitely, like your earlobes. Sometimes they look cool, but mostly they're a nuisance because they get caught on everything and scar easily.

I appreciate piercings, but at a certain point, a line needs to be drawn. My ex-boyfriend had his spine pierced (of many other things he also had pierced) and once he took them out, he had awful scarring going down his spine.
