Listen to this song by Substructure (whose biggest influence is clearly The Contortionist), if you like this then you'll most definitely like Exoplanet.
I love all of these bands with abstract or w/e names. I feel like you could name a band Isosceles or like...Pythagorean Theorem and it would fit right on with whatever genre these guys play. (djent?)
Oh, and I was really interested in exoplanet when it got all melodic, but the "deathcore" elements never appealed to me. I think it holds their sound back.

I heard the new album is more melodic/progressive and less deathcore. I agree they would sound a lot better if they dropped the whole deathcore/breakdown stuff. still loved Exoplanet though

This whole EP is fantastic if you don't have it yet. It's definitely fulfilling my need for more contortionist, since it sounds so similar. Definitely more spacey/progressive/weird though. I kind of wish they'd be a little more heavy- the end of the last track is ridiculous
