His voice sounds way more supported with a lot more air and less throaty-pushing.
Good song! | | |

04:24 AM on 06/16/12 | It's weird, I can't rank SF albums. Each one is different enough to stand on their own and I love each of them for different reasons. However, I lost a bet to a friend as to which record gave SF its biggest fanbase/exposure and Buddy undoubtedly said Still Searching. |
I can rank SF albums, although I get what your saying about every album having a different sound. Not including the EP, Let it enfold you, Still searching, the fire, Life is not a waiting room. But, It truly falls on the listener, and when they got into the band. Let it enfold you was the first record, other than the EP, that I heard by them, and I was obsessed, so in my mind nothing will ever be able to compare to that record, but if I had gotten in late, and heard Still searching first, I think Still Searching would have been my favorite. you get what I'm saying? Me and my girlfriend get into the same argument about the first two TBS records. I heard Tell all your friends first and swear it is better than where you want to be--although I love that record. My girlfriend heard Where you want to be and after listening to that record forever, she went back and bought tell all your friends, and she swears that the 2nd is better than the first. I think your first contact with a band, is going to be the strongest. And as for SF getting the biggest fanbase, it was no doubt SS. Mainly because of the MTV play for Calling All Cars, and Can't be Saved on guitar hero. lol

He's always been really, really whiny and weak sounding. This sounds a lot better.

Great summary. Not a single thing I disagree with.

01:20 PM on 06/16/12 | I just want to be a better man. If you're a big fan of Senses Fail this is a must buy. Just got my preorder today. The booklet is one best cd booklets I've ever read. I love it!

It's a great song! I listen to it at the gym when I lift angry.
|
06:39 PM on 06/16/12 | I actually like it way more than War Paint. Honestly I think it will wind up being one of my favorite Senses Fail songs.
|
08:34 PM on 06/16/12 | Are you watching closely? Loved everything (especially LINAWR) except The Fire. These two songs have been awesome. Old school Senses feel to them. Better than anything off The Fire. |
Go back and listen to The Fire again. I didn't like it for a while, as I thought the production left a lot to be desired, but I left it in my truck for a few weeks and ended up loving that record just as much as the others. You should give it another shot
I'm sorry, but this song is flat, and has absolutely no character AT ALL!! The other tune they released a couple of weeks back, war paint, was a killer, st8 assassin jam. I consider myself a HUGE SF fan, and this tune is not Senses Fail like everyone else keeps posting. Sure, the riffs sound pretty standard to the sound that Heath established after Dave left, but this song is so boring and never extends my excitement. I'm hoping that this song will grow on me like most off the Waiting Room record (that I think is their worst). And everyone keeps saying that Still Searching is the best SF record? I don't see how it could ever be better than Let it Enfold you. Anyways, compared to my SF expectations.....this song has no pulse. |
Lol, LIEY is EASILY their worst full-length. Their song writing has improved and matured by leaps and bounds since that time. I like that record, and the majority of songs on it, but it's still the weakest in their discography imo

it's funny you say that. Lifeboats came up on shuffle today at my work, which is my favorite song on that record, made me kinda wanna spin it more. I definitely will.

I can see what your point is with that. However, I don't think that's ALWAYS the case. I'm thinking, just in my experience, I heard Hellogoodbye when they debuted in like 03 or whatever, didn't care for them too much, listened to their full-length, still didn't like them, then last year when Would It Kill You came out, I listened and fell in love (at least with that album). And Dude Ranch with Blink was my first album I heard, but self-titled is my favorite. I think those first-listen albums have that nostalgia feel, but nostalgia should be put aside (if at all possible), when rating/ranking a bands albums imo

But, the difference is that you are naming albums that you didn't quite care for, or maybe liked a couple of songs. If you would had listened to Hellogoodbye's first full length and really liked it, and it was one of your favorite records ever, and then they put out the next record and you really liked it too, I bet you would like the first one better. There are plenty of bands that I never cared for and then 3 albums out they found there sound, etc, and I fell in love with them. So, that't not what I'm getting into, I'm just saying if there is a band, that puts out a record, and you love it, and listen too it religiously, then two years later, they put out a 2nd record and you love it, and listen to it religiously, I believe that the first record will be your favorite, simply because it defines your contact narrative to the band, and if a different person listens to the 2nd record before ever hearing the first, they will swear it is better than the first. (When pertaining to 2 great records, such as LIEY & SS.
