Registered User The South Male - 23 Years Old | So I attended a date on the red tour and it was an interesting experience. This was my first large show since March.
At the Skylines had a few nice jams. Glass Cloud stood out with their unique guitar and bass setup. Like Moths to Flames gave a good performance.
But I couldn't help feeling that there was something lacking. Is it just me, or did most of the bands sound the same/very similiar to one another in terms of their licks, rhythms, and structures? I mean, some similarity is expected on a tour like this, but there were times when I felt like it was a different incarnation of the same band the entire night.
I primarily went to this because I find a few WCAR, WIM, and AA songs to be catchy; but after watching them play, I am not impressed.
The musicians did not demonstrate much proficiency on their instruments. Nice stage choreography though: coordinated jumps, headbanging in unision, etc.
Maybe this genre is played out and stagnant. Maybe I'm just getting old. *sigh* | | |
