And as general advice to everyone going: DO NOT miss WCAR, The Chariot, or Secrets. Attack Attack sounded pretty darn good too but I couldn't appreciate it as much since I wasn't in the crowd for them. Was pleasantly surprised by Like Moths to Flames, FATS, and Woe Is Me as well.

All of the bands got cut short in Alabama due to a venue change at the last minute. Someone in the crowd also had an altercation with one of the guys from Woe, is Me which caused them to end earlier as well. Not sure exactly what happened. Here are some of the sets that I remember off the top of my head-

At the Skylines-
It's Cherried
Turbulence
Hush
Shady Dreamin

Woe, is Me-
Vengeance
[&] Delinquents
Our Numbers
Mannequin Religion
We R Who We R

Attack Attack-
The Revolution
The Family
The Betrayal
AC-130
Sexual Man Chocolate
Renob, Nevada
Smokahontas

So I attended a date on the red tour and it was an interesting experience. This was my first large show since March.

At the Skylines had a few nice jams. Glass Cloud stood out with their unique guitar and bass setup. Like Moths to Flames gave a good performance.

But I couldn't help feeling that there was something lacking. Is it just me, or did most of the bands sound the same/very similiar to one another in terms of their licks, rhythms, and structures? I mean, some similarity is expected on a tour like this, but there were times when I felt like it was a different incarnation of the same band the entire night.

I primarily went to this because I find a few WCAR, WIM, and AA songs to be catchy; but after watching them play, I am not impressed.

The musicians did not demonstrate much proficiency on their instruments. Nice stage choreography though: coordinated jumps, headbanging in unision, etc.

Maybe this genre is played out and stagnant. Maybe I'm just getting old. *sigh*
