Well yeah, from what I hear a ton of guys on there are pervs. But you'd also get plenty of guys legitimately wanting to get to know you. I know on POF you can set your profile to looking for friends, and filter out people looking for relationships or "intimate encounters". You can also tell it you're interested in men and women so you can make friends of both genders.

This isn't really of great importance, but I'm having the dilemma of needing to be in two places at once. My Warped Tour date is this Tuesday, but I'm scheduled to work and I have a double header that night. We're short at work and for the games, but my coach doesn't mind and I have someone to cover my shift so I could go to Warped. I just feel like an asshole letting so many people down. So long story short, Warped or my games/work?

Doesn't matter now because the kid that was supposed to take my shift bailed. I'd be an ass for leaving my team short against two really good teams. I'm the only catcher on my team, so I'd be leaving them without that too.

Be patient. It's going to be frustrating at first, but you'll get there. Trust me. Acoustic is more difficult, because the strings are a bit harder to press down, but when you eventually pick up an electric, you'll be shredding! It's best to learn on an acoustic.

As you're practicing, use all of your fingers. Building pinky/ring finger strength will be the most difficult, but the more you use them, the stronger they will become. Also, try to keep your thumb from "hanging" over the neck unless you need to mute a string. Keep your thumb behind the neck, this will allow your fingers to stretch and operate better.

Other than that, just keep practicing. Your fingers will hurt at first, but once your skin toughens up, the pain will go away. Don't expect to be playing full songs (or even full chords) at first. It took me a good couple of years to play a whole song correctly.

THIS x1000. I was the most awkward kid ever in high school, trying to get people to like me. Then I got out, changed my attitude to more of a "oh, whatever, if people like me they like me if they don't they don't". Now I've got tons of friends. It's all in the way you present yourself.
