I would just ask that a general idea or projected date of next upcoming release would be provided.

Can't wait to hear a full length from NGHBRS and Night Verses. I enjoy Young Statues a decent amount, but the record didn't stick with me.

NGHBRS has that mixtape coming out via P+P, and Night Verses will likely release something late next year - they perform a full headliner-length set live, so the songs are ready to go. They're playing their cards pretty close to the chest, so it's hard to say. I love the mystique they have going for them.

What's to be expected from the mixtape...seems a bit odd to me. Also, is the Night Verses EP worth picking up?

From P+P regarding the NGHBRS mixtape: "The free digital-only mixtape will be comprised of seven songs - two acoustic B-sides, a remix, two live tracks recorded at Converse's Rubber Tracks Studios, and two jazzy versions of existing songs that were recorded in studio." So even if we only get a few new additions out of it, worth it for free.

And yes, you should pick up the Night Verses EP - not only is one of my Top 2 EPs this year, it is also free: http://nightverses.com/landing.php

I've always thought The American Scene sounds like a slightly more aggressive The Dangerous Summer.

Some good tracks on here I'll have to check out. I really liked the alt-J song.

Some very good artists on here. I really dig Foreign Tongues as I was a fan of his previous band for a long time and I the Mighty is hands down the best new artist I've been introduced to this year. Also, be on the look out for Old Abram Brown, they have two albums recorded and are working on their third now.

Ah that time of year when the lazy fan can sit back and have all the best new bands thrown at him without lifting a finger.

At a brief scout best bands.

Abel- Lots of praise on here for them. Like a more accessible Brand New. Been spinning Daisy on repeat so I was bound to dig this.

NGHBRS- Gatsby and Envy on the Coast, I enjoyed the sound of but it always felt like neither band had quite honed their songwriting. NGHBRS sound like a mix but with the added benefit of streamline songwriting. Can see them blowing up with some exposure.

Pity Sex- Godawful name, but its the music that matters isnt it eh? Feel the My Bloody Valentine tag mislead me a bit. Which made it a pleasant surprise to find them to have a bit of beef. To me they sound like Sunny Day Real Estate. Of maybe a young Jesse Lacey covering American Football with distortion.

Silver Snakes- Sounds like something Finch would have done after Say Hello To Sunshine. A bit more conservative. 'Controlled aggression' is spot on.

Night Verses- Did a quick google only to find out it was actually Doug from the Sleeping and not just a copy cat. Harks back to the Question and Answers era with a dreamy element. It just sounds more revitalised than the Sleeping have of late.

The American Scene- Sounds like a collaboration between Dangerous Summer and Transit. More diverse sonically than Dangerous Summer. More crunch than Transit of late. Very addictive hooks.

The Xcerts- Been following them for years but they still havent quite hooked me yet. My little brother is a huge fan. Maybe it'll come in time.

With The Punches- Have listened to them a bit before but they never really did anything for me. Always sounded very much like well everyone else. But this track does grab my attention. The vocals are that perfect mix between raw and poppy.

You Blew It!- I like.

Young Statues- What I call good indie music. None of that pretentious kool aid that NME and the like lap up. Just good music that is filed under that very vague and undefined label of 'indie'.

One band I never see get enough attention on here though: Lower Than Atlantis. Genuinely believe they are England's answer to The Foo Fighters. Their next album will be huge if there's any justice in the world. Maybe part deux eh?

I fully back Coasta and Tallhart. I didn't see anything else that really interest me here but those 2 bands deserve all the attention, and not just because they are connected to Brand New and Say Anything.
