As a graduated business administration (management, not accounting) major, talk about these exams makes me barf. couldn't do it.

I did the same thing. Took a business administration degree but once you get into a company... I'm with one of the big 5 banks in Canada, but you realize you need to adopt one of these concentrated fields if you want to make the big bucks. A management concentration will likely cap your earnings 80k in banking. The same applies for any career though. My dad was in education and had to take countless tests/interviews to move up into upper administration. A simple bachelors degree can only get you so far from my experience.

I'm currently MFDA licensed and taking my securities this fall to go into the securities/corporate side of the bank. Retail side of banking is a nightmare.

(I should also mention I'm in Canada, so maybe this isn't quite as accurate from your side?)

Yeah, those general principles are still going to apply in the states. And i have a bit of experience on the retail side of banking so i'm with you on that.

I'm gonna watch my first FAR lecture on Wednesday I guess and try to cram it in before I start working (9/24). I'm scheduled to take FAR on 10/13. I was pretty good at intermediate and advanced in school and a friend who already took FAR told me that she thinks I'll be fine. I know it will be more work than AUD or even REG, but I'll manage. I'm scheduled for BEC for 11/24 so I'll have plenty of time to manage studying that since it's only 6 lectures long (for Becker) and the easiest of the four

Just graduated with my masters in accounting, starting Big 4 next month. I took BEC in april when i had my 5 masters classes and got a 73 so you can imagine how dead I felt afterwards. I lazied out the rest of summer and just signed up a couple hours ago to retake it in 2 weeks, then will take Audit early Oct and Reg either late November or early January depending how work goes. FAR is definitely going to be the bitch but hopefully leaving it for last will motivate me that I already have three out of the way.

When you take BEC you might think it's a bitch but really B1 part 2, B2, and B3 are the toughest ones and took a while to get through, B4-B6 you can crush in a couple days. Everyone I was studying with took forever on those parts with class at the same time then were pleasantly surprised when we got over that hump. Good luck
