Seems dumb, but related- when Facebook made one of it's changes (the one where your likes and dislikes were automatically synced with a page rather than a word), fun. benefited in a way because all of those people who like "fun" as an activity or something were exposed to the band's page, if only until they figured it out and switched to one of the other generic pages.

Not sure if it was that way for everyone buy my sister had a friend who was first exposed to the band in that way. Ha

on the other hand a name like fun. can be a pain in the ass to search if you're trying to check them out. I guess it's a lot easier nowadays though.

Those crappy metalcore bands are easy to sift through because of their generic titles. I can become a fan of their band because of their name, but most of my friends don't bother listening to bands with what they call bad or unusual names.

Without a doubt they have an effect. I have taught myself to try and peer past the sometimes unappealing names and actually listen to the band. It's a shame to think about all the talent that goes unseen just because of a name.

ahahaha I agree, just saying, that name held me back from listening to them for a long while. Though now I think it's a pretty fucking awesome name.

Extremely vaild point. I always had to search "fun. (band)" or something, and even then...
